  This place is crazy how they treat there customers. September 2022 I went to Goldings in Sandhurst for the initial fitting and ordered my reds dress uniform, they informed me they will have this complete some time in the start of 2023. December 2022 I payed my invoice of £750 and arranged a final fitting in Jan 2023. After my fitting in January I was told the uniform will be ready a few weeks after and was informed the uniform can be sent via post. In February due to unforeseen circumstances I no longer required the uniform due to myself NTT. I decided to email Golding to let them know I no longer require the uniform and will it be possible to receive a refund, I didn’t receive a reply, I then called them in March asking for a partial refund/options for my uniform. I was spoken to like I was dirt, the woman on the other end was saying I needed a letter from the Army to get a refund due to it being a grant (even though I payed the invoice directly from my own bank with my own money). I then just told them to send what they have in the post and call it quits, she replied with I would need to go for a 3rd fitting before they send it knowing fine well I’m posted 9 hours away from there shop to mess me about. The conversation ended with her saying we need to get all this down in writing with the end of the call. I have emailed them several times during now and March asking them to refund me and an apology but nothing…. It’s like I’ve never existed to them. It’s now been 9 months when I first approached Goldings for there services, I am down £750 and still have no uniform. Stay well away!!!

  Disappointing service from a tailors that I would expect much better service from initially the service was great from arranging a fitting to get sized up for Army SNCO mess dress from initial contact I was given an appointment that week. I was then informed that it will take up to 12 weeks to order in which I though was fine, 3 months later I heard nothing so I thought i would give it another month before I chased it up i then contacted them at the 4 month point and they confirmed the mess dress was already in and they forgot to contact me, again I was fine with that it’s an easy mistake to make seeing as they do tailor for a lot of people, I then got sized up and all was in order so I had to arrange collection of the mess dress having recently collected it once I got home I noticed that it was missing collar badges on the jacket and also loops for the medals i then contacted them to state this having explained I was offered no apology and was told to just to bring it back for tailoring so I explained it’s a 4 hour drive for me to bring it in but understood I had no choice to do so. A week before the appointment to correct to issues they rang me to cancel the appointment and said I will have to bring it in another time, I said I have booked time of work so I cannot come down again so if easier I asked if they could post me the collar badges so I could get them stitched on at a tailors closer to home the person I spoke to said they are not sure they can do that but they will ask the manager and get back to me, since that call I have heard nothing and I have given up with them, I have now arranged to get the issues fixed at a tailors closer to home. Very disappointed overall having spend a lot of money and wasted time trying to fix to issue by chasing them up.

  Awful. Requested for the balance of my credit account to be returned to me in Dec 22. Still has not returned my money. Have contacted on a weekly basis since Jan 23 and have been reassured each time that the payment has been made to me. Frequently ignores emails.

  Simply awesome! Came in for mess dress and the whole experience was so simple, easy and the assistants that helped me were so nice. This place is the complete package. I received bot only my suit but also included the boots, shirt, bow tie and braces, all for the price stated, which was incredibly cheaper than other places that gave me quotes. I will recommend this to anyone who needs mess dress and have already got a couple of lads considering them. You will not be disappointed!

  Ordered service dress and have been measured and fitted, just waiting on buttons. Throughout the process the young lady I dealt with has been professional and diligent. I would definitely highly recommend for all military and civilian tailoring.

  So disappointed with the subsequent service received after making a four hour round trip to have an expensive item of uniform ‘adjusted’. I mentioned a number of issues with which I was unhappy about, already previously having e mailed and telephoned to raise my concerns. Prior to leaving the shop I told the assistant that I would be grateful if she asked the owner to call me, well some two weeks later nothing!

  Awful service, sent 2 jackets to be laced to Lt (SCC), my best jacket was collected by my son and when i put it on found the lace was done wrong, went back to store and they argued it was correct, they then agreed to redo it, this was sent back to me and was a mess, they still had my second jacket and i requested this was not touched and sent back to me so i can take it somewhere else to be done, this arrived yesterday, again laced wrong. I emailed them and got a refund, they then basically called me a liar and told me they done there job correctly as per the email below. (I have since emailed again and offered to send them the lace back and supplied pictures of all the work and some correct works) Stuart The refund of £365.00 has been paid back to you. We had already done the work on the Mess Jacket before you instructed us not to do anymore work so we didn’t. We have 3 main machinists who have each been there for over 20 years. They have been trained by Mr Golding and have produced thousands of uniforms. They have done many jackets like yours and have done them the way they have always done. In fact they have done 6 jackets like yours and put the lace on the sleeves the same way and everyone is delighted with them. You are the only person that has said that they are the wrong way round. Anyway the worst that has happened is that you have new 2% gold lace for free. Unfortunately you are stuck with me because I own the company. The people that matter are the people in the building who have all been there for a long period of time and know what they are doing without complaint. The company is 57 years old so we must have known what we were doing or we would not be here. We believe that we have done everything correctly. Merry Christmas. Regards
