EDIT: the team reached out soon after this review to rectify the situation and have since come back to finish the job. This review still stands but happy that the team were since proactive about the completion. A very honest perspective for this really really dragged out process with golden ratio. Their windows are of high quality and cannot fault the workmanship from the install, but the admin side of all of this is where it falls short. The entire process from start to finish has felt like drawing blood from a stone, with very little communication and the team never knowing what they were about to do on site. The drawings had to be revised a couple of times because the measurements weren’t right, the guys on site never knew whether they were coming back the next day because it was just so badly organized, and finally I’ve had to wait over 3 months for replacements for scratched glass panes. I really wish the team can emphasize more on the transaction aspect of the job and put more effort into running the business as a business, it all felt really lofty and airy, with me having to always push for answers when I had questions.

Golden ratio did a supreme job on my doors! They replaced one victorian door and and weatherproofed another. I'm in a conservation area so the replacement needed to be identical to the existing door and they nailed it. The price was extremely competitive, especially when compared to some of the bigger companies that top a google search. The processes for quoting, engaging and submitting a deposit was smooth. Service was genuine, respectful, responsive and thoughtful. The install team was very nice, but more importantly, excellent crafts people - really excellent work. They replastered, repainted, and cleaned up. When all of the hardware was not available on the date of installation, the team came back a day later to finish up. Overall, 5 of 5. We had a tricky job on a tight timeline (with a baby due imminently) and Golden Ratio went above and beyond to meet our schedule & budget and replace 7 sash windows in our house. They were amazing and we are so thrilled with the results! Other companies I spoke to couldn't start until next year, and another quote we had was completely out of budget. Golden Ratio delivered on time and on budget, and were very pleasant to deal with. Working with Elvis and his team was a pleasure. From the minute he turned up (on time) to give me a quote, I trusted Elvis completely. He was very knowledgeable, honest helpful and friendly - unlike most sash window installers I've spoken to. A few years back, I used a FENSA registered installer to replace a sash window. The materials and workmanship were poor so the scheme is no guarantee of quality. This time, I relied on customer reviews which brought me to Golden Ratio and one other company. There was a big difference between them. Golden Ratio makes hardwood sashes at its Hackney workshop. The other company gets softwood sashes made in Lithuania. Despite this, Golden Ratio's quote was much more competitive. So I ordered two new sashes from Elvis - supported all the way by excellent workshop manager, Emily. Crossed wires meant that Golden Ratio's joiner also made a whole new box to house the sashes. When Elvis realised the mistake, he very kindly offered to install the new box at no extra cost. It was a generous gesture that shows what a decent person he is. The new window is beautiful. Materials and workmanship are outstanding. It's a Rolls- Royce of sashes - awesome to look at and super-smooth to use. The installation was also top-class. Installer Bashkim took real care to make sure the window fitted perfectly and the wall was made good, inside and out. I've lived in Hackney for 20 years. I can honestly say that Golden Ratio is the best home improvement company I've worked with. I'm looking forward to replacing all my windows over the next few months. Outstanding.
