I’d fancied a Staithes pattern jumper for a long time before pre-ordering from Berties who are doing Ganseys at a great price. It’s a good fit and warm, and refreshing to be able to order in a smaller size. The collar unravelled somewhat during my first wears but after sending this back I had it repaired for free which was a relief, not knowing any willing knitters near me. Staithes has a modest looking pattern versus the other villages in part because a plain lower half to the jumper means any wear from carrying heavy loads against your torso can be fixed up without much sacrifice. This is a timeless design for all uses and you’ll be looked after by Matthew once you’ve purchased.

Popped into your lovely shop the other week. Not intending to buy anything but walked away with two beanies and my partner on impulse bought a lovely deckhand jacket. It was great to hear the story of Berties of Bay. I then was lucky enough to find and win a XXL Bay Gansey on eBay. It's beautifully made and very warm. To make up for not buying direct I'll order one when I'm flush and when the XXLs come back in stock
