I don’t get why they call themselves “Golden Lane” as it is a beautiful name far from what they really are. Be careful folks they may call themselves “Social Housing” but still charge the maximum LHA (Local Housing Allowance) rate instead of the social rent rate that won’t make them as much money for GLH’s profit. I was a tenant with them. When I am on the phone with GLH I felt I was talked down at and undermined every time I dealt with them by phone as it is disgusting as they are supposed to be supporting vulnerable adults with disabilities with housing but far from the truth. They should speak to tenants with respect and dignity not like dirt under their shoe. Thank god I had handed my notice. Avoid them like the plague honestly and look at other housing associations they might offer better accommodation. They may call themselves an housing association but it seems to me that they are a private rental organisation.

We have been setting up a home for our son to share with 2 other adults with learning difficulties. We have met with lots of obstacles and frustrations, but none due to Golden Lane. We have been very fortunate to deal with an exceptionally knowledgeable, reliable and dynamic individual, who is also, thankfully, excellent at communication. She is also someone who solves problems, which has been greatly appreciated by us looking

We have been living above a property being renovated by this company, somehow, for the last 5 months. It has been hell. For a company that is responsible for helping people mental health issues, they have done well to cause a couple in us. They start work at 8am without fail, banging, talking loudly, smoking outside of our bedroom window and having loud radio noise on even though we've asked them countless times to try to keep it down on a morning (we work shifts and sometimes work nights). We have had our electricity turned off because of them, odd smells coming through the floor and issues with our plumbing the entire time they have been fulfilling their work. We know this work just be done but the people conducting it and the the people responsible for organising it and liasing with the public obviously struggle to empathise with anyone who isn't paying them money. We have complained countlessly to different members of the company and it falls on deaf ears. We have personally knocked asked them to turn their radio down after it became increasingly loud, with added singing, and they aggressively told us 'they had work to do' and shut the door in our face(?!) . Even after complaining directly through our landlord, nothing has changed. Anyone thinking of using this company should be aware that they are not mindful how their work affects people and are discourteous and rude.

I was a tennant in Golden Lane housing for about 8 years. I definitely got looked after and when there were events on, they even invited me to take part. Couldn't ask for a better social housing landlord.
