FAQ

What types of beer and other beverages do you offer at your brewpub?

At our brewpub, we offer a variety of beers including ales, lagers, and stouts. We also offer non-alcoholic options such as sodas, juices, and teas.

How long have you been in business and what makes your shochu unique?

We have been in business since 1993. Our shochu is unique because we use sweet potatoes as the main ingredient, which gives it a distinct flavor profile. We also use traditional Japanese production methods to create a high-quality product.

Can you provide information on the production process and ingredients used in your shochu?

Our shochu is made using sweet potatoes as the main ingredient, along with rice and koji. The sweet potatoes are steamed, mashed, and then mixed with the other ingredients. The mixture is then fermented and distilled, resulting in a smooth and flavorful shochu.

How do you ensure the quality and consistency of your shochu?

We ensure the quality and consistency of our shochu by carefully selecting the best ingredients, using traditional production methods, and conducting rigorous quality control checks throughout the entire production process. We also have experienced and skilled craftsmen who oversee every step of the process to ensure that our shochu meets our high standards.

What sets your brewpub apart from other bars and restaurants in the area?

Our brewpub is unique because we brew our own beer on-site using traditional methods and high-quality ingredients. We also offer a variety of food options, including traditional British pub food and Japanese dishes that pair well with our shochu. Additionally, we have a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that makes our customers feel right at home.

My first visit here was appalling considering it had only been open two days. Absolutely disgusting you have to pay for a membership. Also bought two tee shirts but had no receipt and wasn't even given an option for that

Very impressive newly opened brewery/ taproom / restaurant serving the full range of Goddards beers. Closes at 6pm and you need to join (£12.50 one time charge) to drink and eat. Hopefully that doesn't put people off.

The new brewery shop, bar and terrace are housed in a recently opened building of stunning design and lovely rural setting. Coupled with some truly excellent beers, good bar food and an impeccable attentive service by the staff, it is a stop off I'd highly recommend. Please note though that to access the bar you have to be a member but at £12.50 pp for membership that includes other benefits from my experience I think it's a price worth paying. I'll be coming back!

Ordered a home delivery of Fuddle De Dum and Ale of Wight on Tuesday morning and was delivered Thursday afternoon. Excellent service, well done Goddards and HDL! May have to order some more as I don't think they will last out until Christmas!

Not open to the public and not even a brewery shop! Goddard’s you are missing a HUGE trick here. Ale fans like myself always seek out local breweries and wish to support you by purchasing your goods and other products direct from you.

Great ales but unfortunately the brewery is not open to the public and there is no brewery shop - a huge shame as I am sure it would do a roaring trade. We visited the nearby Isle of Wight Distillery to purchase Goddards’ ales instead.
