The GMB union is complete disgrace and insult to the founders of the Trade union movement. I have been unable to work since April 2014, and I have been denied my rights as a union member by the regional secretary, branch secretary, and legal admin. In 2016, I was forced to make an official complaint against the unions legal team, the union launched an investigation, and with-out interviewing me and viewing all evidence, ruled against me. I then made an official complaint, and the regional secretary , with-out either speaking to me or viewing all evidence, ruled against me and declared that I had exhausted the complaints procedure ( blatant lie ) and the case closed. I then initiated a Rule six appeal, ( which he had neglected to mention that I was entitled to ) , and he was forced to re-open my case, passing this to my local branch secretary. Against official union rules, I was given no notification of the hearing, and given no opportunity to present my evidence to the branch committee and defend myself, and a ruling made against me. I then made a further complaint and was invited to a hearing at the Halesowen office , miles away from where I live.. in effect, I was invited to a meeting that union officials knew I could not attend, since I was suffering pain and mobility issues and had no transport. Because Mr Joe Morgan refused me my rights as a union member, I was forced to complain to the Legal Ombudsman , who ruled that I had received poor service from the union legal team, which was effectively a slap in the face to the regional secretary, branch secretary, and legal administrator. If you go onto the legal Ombudsmans site - Reference number 175405 , this will substantiate my allegations. Also because I have been denied union representation, I was forced to initiate a case for constructive dismissal through Acas against my ex-employer, who opted to settle my claim through the mediation servise, another slap in the face for union officials. To get my full story go to the GMB union , trustpilot review and click on my name. If union officials are not prepared to recognise a members democratic rights, and to adhere to the rules contained in the official union rule book, then they are not fit to hold any union position and should resign. Carl Bromfield, scholar Green, ( still a GMB member, because mr Morgan will not expel me, even though I have accused him of Gross-misconduct, I suspect that he does not wish the government certification officer to commence an investigation, which I will be entitled to, should I be expelled ).
