I bought my Globe G8BE Briggs electric in May 1997.It has been used every year except last year, admittedly not weekly, but for three or four hours, four or so times a year. In the beginning I had it serviced regularly because the engineer would visit. It has been pretty ad hoc over the last 15 years but I did find someone to change the chipping blades around for me and straighten a few of the hammers. The reason for writing this now is I have just spent two days of about three hours each shredding some pretty serious branches. Yesterday it started second pull (the electric start has never worked) after sitting for probably eighteen months. All I do is check the oil level because I found there was a cut out if low and put in fresh fuel. Today it started first pull. That has to be a seriously good engine. For some reason I have to pull the spark plug lead off to stop it. The previous guy that looked at it couldn't work it out. But this must be the best investment I've ever made. I think it was the original guy that sold it to me at Chelsea Flower Show. I would attach an image but I'm knackered now after all the chipping and shredding.
