    Their customer advisors lack basic English literacy and the ordering process with prescriptions is far more difficult than it should be. My prescription was rejected because the optometrist at my local boots opticians had simply gone over the date with their pen and providing receipts & other corresponding evidence appears to have thus far fallen on deaf ears. The irony of course being that had I simply filled in my prescription when paying at checkout (as opposed to sending the photo evidence in via email) then they would have just fulfilled my order without defamatory statements made against my person. I would normally have bought a new pair of glasses at Boots after my eye test, but unfortunately they didn’t have any in a colour/style I wanted. As I only ever really use my glasses as spares to my contact lenses I’m now wishing I’d just bought a practical pair from there instead.

    Took a month and a day to arrive, over a week to get a reply to a very simple email enquiry, and my one phone call cost me twenty minutes of my time, along with a large chunk of my sanity. I decided to try Glasses Direct because they're cheap; and in this instance, you get what you pay for - flimsy tat. Never again.

    The service was really fast and incredibly cheap. It is probably worth trying the glasses on before buying though, the two pairs I bought may grow on me, but bigger than I was expecting, I guess that is the style these days.

    Thoughtful, responsive service based on understanding customer. Recently bought dome Ray Bans. Great lens spec and tremendous value versus high street opticians. However I failed to think about arm length when placing order and max arm length supplied by default was way too short so unable to use glasses. They replaced without question with empathy and have previously changed order detail at last minute at my request. Their higher priced quality offerings are still better value than the high street and their service principles and a tions (from my experience) are great.

    They may be good if you can ever get a pair of glasses from them. My first order was cancelled a few days after I placed it because the glasses I ordered were no longer in stock. The second order never arrived. It was dispatched via UPS (cheap and nasty which isn't a good sign) and although it was out for delivery; it never made it to my address and disappeared within the UPS system.

    Pretty frames, I got 2 pairs. The first broke within 2 weeks and was replaced with no quibbles. Giving only one star because the lenses are awful. Even after complaining they were giving me headaches I was reassured that the prescription was correct. I persevered but after a few months tried Direct Sight. Identical prescription. What a difference! My new Direct Sight lenses are wonderful and make a huge difference. Pity Glasses Direct don’t listen to their customers. Avoid. Terrible quality lenses.

    Had used select specs for a few years, but suddenly had to start paying extra that they didn't advertise, so swapped to glasses direct. Got my first pair in the post today, a lot cheaper (still branded frames though!) Thinned down, with no hidden extra costs. Fit is excellent and they seem a lot better put together than any I've had from select specs, and the lead time was a LOT shorter! Very impressed, thankyou!

    My original glasses were broken. I ordered two pairs from glasses direct 9 days before i was going away. First problem when i got the conformation order email i noticed that the lenses were not the same as the ones i ordered. I called them and after 30 mins on hold i spoke to someone who said they were aware of the glitch but the lense i ordered were more expensive so i would have to pay more. During the conversation i ask if i could get the glasses in 9 days and was told they would mark the order as urgent. 3 days later i get two emails saying that both frames were with their optical laboratory having the lenses fitted, at the time i thought great. On the 5th day i emailed them just to reiterate i needed them by the 9th day, but no reply. On the 7th day i call them and again after 30 mins of being on hold i am told that they only have the lenses for one pair of my glasses. I say fine please just send me the one pair in time for me to go away. But they say they can't. So i cancel the order. I then have to get glasses from vision express at a higher cost because they can do them within 24 hours. When i get back i email glasses direct again asking them that i would still like one pair of the glasses i ordered. 4 weeks later and they haven't replied to my email. As a previous customer of theirs buying 6 frames from them I'm extremely disappointed.

    Great value glasses via mail order. Able to try pairs on at home before you place order. Web site is easy to use. Cost is far less than buying glasses from your high street opticians even if you need to thin the lenses.
