Ginnys is a decent cocktail bar and a good place for pre or post dinner drinks. We walked in on a thursday before our dinner reservation and the place was empty, it looked like all of the tables were booked from 7 PM onwards though so that is good to see! the service was prompt and very friendly, they both seemed quite knowledgable about the cocktails. the cocktail list in itself has all the classics and some quirky, pretty, cocktails but nothing really out of the ordinary. there is an aperol spritz as well as the "other" version with a different aperitivo which was okay. there's I believe 5 different types of mojitos, I ordered the standard one which was good, could've done with a bit more acidity but was a lot better than the standard. my other half had the dark cherry mojito version and was absolutely loving it. I had the namesake ginny which is a pretty sparkly cocktail with some powder in it and prosecco which looked great and tasted fine but was nothing special. my other half went for one of their dessert cocktails which tasted exactly like a kinder bueno and made him very happy. In general I'd say that a lot of the cocktails are aimed towards instagram pictures and there's nothing wrong with that, but that are also just sweet. Like so many places Ginnys is afraid to make the cocktail taste like the alcohol thats in it. I think the place is great for hen dos and when it's full I can see the atmosphere being great. our cocktails, even though it was just us and one other table, took quite a while to get to us though so I can see this becoming an issue. if you like sweet cocktails, or sweet things in general, and you're not such a pretentious cocktail snob (like I am admittedly) you will have a great time here.

My wife and I stopped in whilst staying the night in Maldon. Cute, quirky place.. Staff were really lovely people and the cocktails were fantastic and very reasonable. Will definitely visit again if we come through the area again.

Wow. What a little gem this cocktail bar in Maldon is! I went there for a date night and we both absolutely loved it. Amazing décor giving a cool warm vibe and a touch of a speakeasy bar, with cocktails to die for. Vast selection of cocktails from the traditional, right through to desert cocktails and new cocktails I have never seen before but taste unreal. You can tell all the ingredients used are fresh from the flavours. Highly recommend popping in for a cocktail or two!
