Well, where do I start when it comes Gillian Roberts Bridal & Sewing Rooms. 5 stars just doesn’t do these ladies justice, most of my experience was with Sharon and Hazel and my god they are as awesome as they come, they are so friendly, welcoming, helpful and so honest, they don’t just tell you want they think you want to hear. If you are looking for a friendly, welcoming, honest and amazing team of ladies when finding the most important dress you’ll ever wear, then Gillian Roberts is by far the place to go, I can’t recommend them highly enough. Here’s why. I went to Gillian Roberts with a very specific idea of what I wanted. I had tried on a few dresses that I picked out but none of them felt right. That’s when Sharon stepped in and brought one to me and said try this one. when I put it on it blew me away, it was amazing! straight away it made me feel amazing, I actually started to feel like a bride. Because I had ideas to alter the dress to make it personal to me, The next stage was with Hazel, she took the time to sit with me and go through the ideas I had for my dress, she listened to every detail I wanted and we played around with ideas that would work and wouldn’t work, this continued through the whole process of creating my dream dress, I was kept up to date with anything Hazel done of ideas she had. Sharon was always present with these visits and with both ladies, I would say are like some of my close girlfriends, they put up with me moan and whinged about things going wrong or not going as planned, and not just because it was their job but because they actually cared. They were always keen to hear about how the planning was going and seeing pictures of processes of it. My dress has turned out better than I could have imagined & more. I have a bespoke dress that will always be treasured and have memories not only of the best day of my life but also of the amazing ladies that helped me design it. I can’t Thank these ladies enough for everything they have done in the last year.

I had a wonderful experience here. And after trying in many dresses far and wide, said yes to the dress. After a bad experience at Pronovia, and being turned away by Halfpenny, I was wondering if I’d get a dress in the timescale I had. I was even told not to lose weight by one shop as there would be no time for alterations. Hazel took my initial call and was so very reassuring, she said there was nothing to worry about, they could sort me out and alterations would be possible right up to the last safe moment, days before the wedding if needed. I tried on four dresses, and returned a couple of weeks later where I purchased a dress from the store. They have a vast collection, something for everyone. Both visits the lovely Emma looked after me like a reassuring; honest friend. Clearly experienced with with dresses, shapes and the emotional reactions and anxieties. I can’t wait to get my final tweaks and share pictures of the big day. Thankyou ladies. I hope you’re not still finding glitter everywhere!!

The experience here was amazing! Laura and Sharon know so much about the dresses and which styles will suit. I had previously been to another shop and was traumatised by the experience there. Thankfully Laura and Sharon had a range of beautiful dresses in suitable sizes and I left the shop feeling like a bride to be. I was a really nervous bride and I cannot rate this shop highly enough.
