Absolutely mint service, helped repair my specs previously and had to take my elderly Mum with Alzheimer's for an emergency appointment. They were wonderfully accommodating, very patient and thorough. Thank you so much

Our daughter is top in her class for spellings and maths but it’s a shame her eyes let her down, we Can’t thank Ruth enough for her amazing attention to finding the reason to our daughters problems. We now know how she sees the world and the difficulties she has faced. With Ruth’s help and Fiona’s this can all now be corrected If you child has vision problems please book to see Ruth the technology she used was amazing her knowledge too. We are returning for more investigations and our daughters glasses. Ruth is not your normal optician she goes even further to see what is going on then guides you. We will never go to another optician than Ruth now. She is also amazing with kids makes them feel so at ease to see our daughter going from not reading something to seeing it clear in seconds amazed us and our daughter. Thank you Ruth see you again very soon.

My visit to VisionCare Optometry was strange and honestly not a great experience. I booked in for the Full Vision Assessment with Ruth (£200), as I have Amblyopia in my left eye. The assessment is basically an eye test and then you go to this VR computer and try out brain training games - they really try sell it to you at this stage and why not...there's a lot of money in it for them ($520 for 6 x 50 minute sessions- they recommend , £450 for a 3 month Vivid Vision License- they recommend 3-9 months). This is all fine everyone needs to make money. My biggest issues and the main reason I am writing this review is: 1. When Ruth realized I wasn't interested in the VividVision she vanished and left me with her assistant ( the exam actually took approx. 30-40 mins- they say approx. 2 hours). And I honestly think the test is really talked up- no difference in any exam I've previously had. 2. After my eye test I was told to go to the glasses section to get my glasses- why do I have to buy glasses there ? I wasn't asked 'would I like to see our range of glasses'... it was more expected and I felt like I was doing something wrong by not purchasing from them. So I told Ruth that I would like to buy my glasses somewhere else and the response I got back was some rubbish reply like - oh well your eye prescription lense is complex as it has a "prism" and I don't think anyone else will understand it, so its best you purchase them from here. So after literally 10 minutes of the assistant moaning he finally wrote out the prescription. I went to get my glasses elsewhere and they said the prescription was a standard one for someone with a lazy eye and no problem to make (the main reason I decided to write this review). Overall, they are very nice. My advise is don't get sucked into the niceness...it's a big investment and everyone would try anything to improve their vision. I asked for statistics on the VividVision success rate and they couldn't provide any substantial evidence that this treatment works...what is your recommended 9 months of treatment based on... the properties annual maintenance bill ? My advice to VisionCare is don't push sales on people... give them the option to take their prescription elsewhere and if they don't purchase your products stay genuine throughout the appointment. Sorry for the long review... :)
