James came highly recommended to me by a friend. This was my first time climbing outdoors and James was an excellent instructor. He is incredibly experienced and created a bespoke 3 day schedule that matched my ability and what I was looking to learn, as well as the weather and the areas I wanted to climb in. I had a brilliant 3 days in the stunning landscapes of Snowdonia doing my first outdoor trad climbing, loads of fun and learnt a huge amount. And James even filmed some spectacular drone footage that made my climbing efforts look incredibly epic which was a really awesome souvenir of the trip! James is a great teacher, patient, supportive and fun, and took time to explain all the aspects of climbing as we went along. The course easily exceeded my expectations. I can't recommend him and Gibbons Adventures highly enough.

James took us out for a day of multi-pitch on Idwal slabs. It was great. The day started with coffee and a chat to James about what we wanted our objectives were for the day and what we wanted to learn. He listened to us describe how we want to progress from single pitch trad to become confident in multi-pitch. James suggested Idwal slabs would be a good place to start. And it was. It was a great day going up the slabs. James created a relaxed atmosphere in which we both felt confident leading pitches. We both came away having learned a lot and feeling pretty knackered. All in all a great day out. We'd highly recommend using Gibbon Adventures if you want to learn from people with loads of knowledge, a relaxed attitude and the ability to tailor the day to your particular goals and objectives.
