My experience of Giant Store Camden is that it has all the expertise of a larger, more specialist store whilst maintaining all the friendliness of a smaller, independent bike store which have sadly, all but vanished from our high streets! Having been on the look out for the right bike for my first ironman triathlon this summer for some months, it was proving to be a highly confusing and daunting experience with so much conflicting advice and reviews out there both on the web and through hearsay. I wanted to be sure I was spending my hard earned money on the right bike! From day 1, I felt Farouk immediately took interest in me as an individual, taking time to find out my goals and needs. The advantage of pre-booking a new bike consultation is that I was given undivided attention to go through all the queries/concerns I had. I had been struggling with saddle sore, back ache and wrist ache from my current bike and Farouk took the time to assess the position I was in on my current bike and immediately identified a number of things that needed improving about the fit. He then helped fit me on the new bike without reliance on a simple chart but by testing me on two different sized frames, making adjustments and observing me cycling different models on test rides outside as well as seeking my feedback on comfort before giving feedback on the best size and model. No other store has come close to providing such an expert new bike consultation! One of my reasons in choosing to buy from Giant Camden was the excellent quality aftercare I knew I would be getting. There are 6-monthly free services for the first three years, but in fact, it feels like having a whole support crew on hand all the time! Farouk has a way of always making you feel like an elite athlete and it's easy to trust that he has your best interests at heart. I'm looking forward to sharing my cycling journey on my new Liv Langma with the Giant Camden crew and feel like they are cheering me all the way! I'm also looking forward to joining some of the Giant Camden team Liv social bike rides which are hosted at regular intervals throughout the year.

Bought a Giant road bike recently and Farouk was very helpful in explaining things as well as providing me guidance for my upcoming race. Farouk is very knowledgeable and even though he is very busy he tries to make time to answer all your questions. Appreciate your help Farouk! Moreover, I was unlucky and had a flat tire upon my second ride and Nick kindly helped me fix the issue prior my race without charging me.

Edit to respond to the owner: Let me reiterate the point I made, as it seems it didn't come across: you should not decide over the phone that a defect is because the customer did not know how to assemble the bike, without seeing the bike first. You should not tell the customer they will be charged, before you see the bike and determine what the problem is. Seems like the folks at Halfords had no trouble doing both things right, for free and wile offering advice and an overall friendly customer service. ---- Original review Beware, they don't honour the warranty for your bike! I bought a Giant bike online, and had a problem with the brakes. Since it's under warranty, I called the store and the person answering the phone was very unhelpful and difficult to talk to. He told me I'd have to pay 60 pounds or more for repair of a new bike, even though it was under warranty, because it was an assembly problem, not manufacturing. The guy decided this without ever seeing the bike. First, I find this offensive, implying that I can't even do basic setup, when I've been riding for years. Second, you don't decide it's the customers fault, without first seeing the bike. So I took the bike to Halfords, where they confirmed the issue was a manufacturing one (bent disc), and fixed it for free. Think twice before buying bikes here, or at least make sure you have another insurance that covers problems with the bike, as here it seems, they aim to rip you off.

I wouldn’t go back in if I had any other option. They unfortunately ended up costing me money and the manager was unbelievably rude

My experience with Giant Camden has been really great and easy. I bought a Langma women’s road bike last week and was assisted by Farouk, who is very friendly and has incredible knowledge! As this is my first Carbon road bike, Farouk has been very patient in explaining all the bits and bobs along the way as well as being committed to helping me find a perfect saddle fit!

My buying experience at Giant Camden was first class and an absolute joy throughout. The Giant buying process ensures the rider ends up with the bike best suited to their needs in a friendly and welcoming environment. I was guided by Farouk who has in-depth knowledge and experience; I am already feeling the benefit of the bike fit he suggested for me on the new bike. Needless to say, the bikes themselves are very high quality and represent excellent value compared to Giant’s competitors (I purchased the Propel Advanced shown in the picture which is an absolute weapon!). Thanks again to Nick and Farouk. I’m looking forward to coming back for a service and updating you on my training on the new bike.

I brought my bike in to have worn out parts replaced but was ridiculed by a member of the staff for bringing my own spare parts rather than using theirs. Upon informing the staff member that I had been to the shop earlier and the parts that I needed weren't in stock I was told "well where's the profit in it for us using your parts". I was then told the labour cost would more than double from the original quoted price I had recieved on my first visit of £40 to £90 because, again, there would be no profit for Giant. I was thoroughly dissapointed by this customer service and would recommend Giant treating clients in future with more respect. I then went to a bike store near Kentish town station where they were happy to use my parts to fix my bike, even managing to not ridicule me in the process. Never going to Giant in Camden again, absolutely appalled.
