Amazing little local zoo. We attended a party here and the kids loved it. The staff were friendly and full of info about the animals. It's not just a zoo but also they take on rescue animals when possible. Yes it is small but for little kids this place is full of wonderful animals. Yes the parking on site is small but there are options if you ask staff. All animals seemed to be very healthy when we visited so clearly GTKA are doing a wonder job at giving them health and new life.

So good! This place is way smaller than I'd anticipated but don't let that deter you. Every member of staff I encountered was so passionate and knowledgeable and it was obvious that they thrive on sharing this passion with visitors. The animals were amazing, over 380 in there with 70 odd species or something like that. They've made the most of the space they have and it's been done really well. My 4 year old loved it. It took us 90 min each way to travel there and we were only inside for 45 min but it was definitely worth it. We took advantage of a term time deal too where the 2 of us went in for just £10. Highlight of the visit was a parrot saying hello to us!

I’m disgusted of this place! I don’t know from where to start. First of all-they were totally unprepared to serve the visitors in the zoo. We went on Bank holiday when they put tickets for 50% off, which might expect a huge amount of visitors. They were short if stuff, no organisation at all. So, so greedy! If you want to do animal handling, you have to pay each animal separate per person! We have 3 kids, and even though was half price that day, just to see monkeys inside the cage, I was asked to pay £112,50 just for the kids, which I refuse of course! One of the girl, that shows us the parrot (we done a parrots handling) was so bored and with lack of interest to talk or explain something about the birds. The queues for entering the zoo was huge, people were even arguing and jumping the queues for animals handling. So, so unorganised, so expensive and absolutely overpriced! In the endgame of our visit we pay £15 for iguana handling. We went next to the cage and waited there for at list 30 mins. We asked 3 or 4 different people from the staff when they can come and served us. Some of them even ignored us! I was totally fed up of all this waiting, so I went to the reception and I politely asked to be refunded, as my kids we tired of waiting. I told the lady that we were very disappointed, especially the kids, and I told her my feelings and opinions that they weren’t prepared and unorganised, so she stack me with very rude language, I that was absolutely a shock for me! I paid with card, but she took my receipt and threw in my face me £15 cash! I didn’t say nothing as I was with my kids, but I will never, ever visit this place again! And I told many of my friends about my experience! They don’t deserve even 1 star! And I’ll make sure many people to know what a joke is this place! It’s not a zoo at all! I’ll post bad reviews in ANY SOCIAL MEDIA about you!

Me and my friend came to visit get to know animals with no expectations, we was actually on our way out when a lovely lady called Donna showed us around again giving us so much information about the animals they have rescued. I have a massive fear of spiders and Donna was so gentle and informative, she helped me touch the tarantula and made me feel at ease. Highly recommended visiting all the staff are so friendly it's an amazing place
