A good educational place to visit showing how tin was mined in the area from almost pre-history up to the modern era and the sad decline and death of the industry. Walking in to an area known as the dry is sad as it was left after the very last shift worked the mine so it still has clothes hanging up and personal items waiting for owners who will never come back. It doesn't take much imagination to make you realise how closing the mine must have devastated some families. Some of the ex-miners still work at the mine as tour guides so go and visit, spend some cash and have a good day out.

A really interesting visit, which was greatly enhanced by Grant, our well informed ex-miner guide. The tour through numerous buildings and underground workings was brought to life with his knowledge, experience and anecdotes. It also helped us to appreciate what a tough life it must have been to work there. I would thoroughly recommend the visit and guided tour.
