Following a visit to Gayways to discuss a misfiring problem with my petrol lawnmower, I was advised that the fix would entail a simple carburettor and fuel lines clean, Despite my reservations with this company I took the advice and dropped the lawnmower off to be serviced. A few days later I received a telephone call stating that the problem was more serious and an engine strip down was necessary. I agreed that the work could be commenced with the caveat that I should be contacted once the engine was stripped down so that I could see for myself what was causing the fault. Gayways did not do this and only contacted me once the engine was rebuilt, casually explaining that they forgot to contact me despite my specific request to do so. The final bill was extortionate, however, I duly paid the bill thinking my lawnmower would finally be repaired and usable. I have used the lawnmower once since the repair and the original fault is still present. I should rightly return the lawnmower to Gayways as they have a) not diagnosed the original fault and b) charged me for work not relating to the original fault. However, based on this experience I have no faith in this company and so called servicing dept. and I expect would be asked for a further deposit to carry out more needless work. My conclusion is that extracting money from customers is prioritised above customer satisfaction. UPDATE Following this review, Gayways contacted me and have in fairness attempted to rectify the above problem, unfortunately, after 3 attempts, they were unable to repair the lawnmower, and only offered me a partial refund leaving me £100 out of pocket. Maybe I was just unlucky but the whole experience has unfortunately left a sour taste so won’t be using this company again

Avoid at all cost sold a faulty item and told me I broke it on the first use then told me to pay to sent it back and they would tell me if they’ll replace customer service is terrible and the attitude of the person one the phones a disgrace. Yet another company that’s a complete waste of time

Today been robbed from this company really upset that they charge you that amount and the machine not even come back in working order stay away.this people are scams they give a estimate of £225 to repair my machine need a new carburettor!!!225£ ouch!!!the price of a new machine stay awayyyy.They stated i only paid £57 but didn’t mention £65 deposit liars and scums stay away paid £125 for nothing been robbed liars Scam Scam Scam

After my previous repairman retired, I was in need of a replacement to fix my garden blower. I tried this particular company, but I was left feeling dissatisfied with their service. Our company owns more than 60 garden equipment machines, so I believe I am well-informed about the prices of repairing the machines." The reason for my disappointment stems from the fact that I was charged an exorbitant amount of money for a simple repair job that would typically cost around 120 pounds. Instead, this company charged me a whopping 300 pounds for the same job. I was shocked and dismayed to see such a steep price tag for such a basic service. To make matters worse, I showed the invoice to my previous mechanic who confirmed that the company charged me 230 pounds for only 1.5 hours of work, plus the cost of parts. This is an absolutely outrageous amount of money to charge for such a simple repair job. Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience with this garden equipment repair company. The excessive and unjustified pricing left me feeling ripped off and taken advantage of. I would strongly advise against using this company for any future garden equipment repair needs.
