Needed a bath aid urgently for a friend who was visiting from outside the area for a few days. Temporary registered her with Wallsend GP (on Thursday) to gain access to North Tyneside District nurses, so we could request an assessment visit and get bath aid. Finally, "late" Friday afternoon, the nurse contacted us only to say she couldn't help and couldn't come up with a solution, despite discussing with her colleagues. But, thankfully, Gateshead loan equipment centre came up trumps and saved the day. Also they don't normally provide to people outside the area, but they were sympathetic and wouldn't see us stuck, so provided us with a bath seat as required for the few days it was needed. Thanks to the team for you sympathetic response and cooperation. Much appreciated. Kind regards Margaret Button PS.
