Quite the worst bank I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Incredibly bureaucratic, lots of hidden costs. Would advise to steer well clear.

A massive thank you to Juhina Khanom and the Gatehouse team for doing an incredible job in supporting me getting my application over the line. With my first finance handler leaving in the initial stages, Juhina stepped in and took ownership of what needed to be done. It was a stressful time and her can do attitude, being transparent and open meant I kept my sanity! From the moment go she kept the process clean, precise and professional whilst keeping it both simple and easy to understand. I was happy with the proactive approach Juhina took in keeping me informed throughout the progress of the application. The application process was made simple and the requests came in bite-size portion making it swift and easy to handle. I have now dealt with Gatehouse Bank several times for different properties and the people I have dealt with makes a real difference. The alternative to Gatehouse is to deal with interest and I never want to do that so it's people like you that have taken the time to piece everything together which make it work. Im so pleased GH, that you've come in the market and challenged the conventialonal ways of financing by bringing about a more ethical and freindlier way of doing it whilst making it run as smooth as clockwork. Others have tried but failed so once again, thank you Juhina for your time, your care and the brilliant service you have provided I couldn't ask for more from you or the GH team - keep up the great work your doing it is very much appreciated and ill be back in a few month with my next property iA

STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS BANK!!! I wish that I had read the reviews before I started the buy to let refinance process with these people. It all started well and I provided all the info required which was examined by the advisor at each stage. Once she was happy with everything, I was instructed to pay the fee for a formal application and the fee for the house valuation which I paid happily thinking I was dealing with a competent and professional company. The bank then used a company to value my property at my expense which provided an inaccurate report. The bank also forwarded the case to the underwriters. All of this process took about 4 weeks and resulted in a great havoc in my life as the paperwork/ evidence requirements were enormous and the bank staff’s miscommunication made it even worse. After ticking all the boxes and paying all the fees, I was told that the case failed the “HEAD OFFICE REVIEW”. I asked what does that mean and could you provide me further information, the answer came “SORRY WE DON’T HAVE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION ON THE MATTER”. This was not acceptable as the I had provided all the paperwork and fee so I ask for further information and I was directed to their complaint process. I registered a formal complaint in hope that someone will look at this with some common sense and try to resolve the matter however they acted the very same way as before and guess the finding “I am unable to comment on why the case failed head office review and although I understand this may be frustrating for you, the final decision will remain unchanged”. How is this possible that after wasting 4 weeks of my time, making me pay the fee for the service they didn’t provide accurately they can just refuse without any explanation? Please take heed from this experience and don’t try your luck as they will fail you the same way they have failed me and many others on here! I am socked that Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), PRA and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) have not looked at the reviews and taken an action so far. I will bring this matter to their attention and urge you all to reach out to them so an appropriate action can be taken against this company.

Honestly a terrible bank. Extremely slow response, having to constantly chase and still somehow fail to make the changes requested in reducing the monthly payment on the HPP after having paid a lump sum. Avoid if you can and go with Al Rayan. Wish we never used Gatehouse to begin with. They were great to get us on board but good luck after that.

Tried opening a cash ISA account last week. On the very last page that shows captcha phrase, it just wouldn't show the picture so have to drop the idea of cash ISA.

This bank should not be in operation. Absolute waste of time. Offer services to the public that they cannot provide and get peoples hopes up for nothing in the Muslim community. We had zero customer service. There is only a switchboard taking contact details promising you a call back in 3 days that doesn’t materialise!!! Don’t bother looking for a house until they approve your application formally. The sellers will pull out due to their delayed waiting times.

I have been trying to get hold of the bank for several days. As I was interested in refinancing through them. I left them several voicemails so I could get a call back and there has been no response. They decide to call me whilst I am at work and I informed them that I would call them back in literally 2 mins and surprise surprise as soon as I tried to call them back, no response! How on earth are you supposed to trust them with doing business dealings if you can’t get through to them! How can you expect to refinance or purchase a home with your so called partners if you can’t get through to them! Going with this company will surely lead to more stress and aggro in your life.
