Gadd is an incredible vocal coach who knows his trade inside out, is dedicated (he is always prepared to go beyond your allotted hour if he feels you’re not finished!), and his impact on my singing ability and confidence has been nothing short of transformational. I was a nervous beginner with no experience (bar occasional karaoke!), but his professionalism and fun teaching style made me feel at ease from the start. Three years later (including the pandemic period, where his online lessons provided what can only be described as life support!), I have made significant progress that I never thought was possible. We have worked through every style from musicals, rock and even 90s house anthems … and he even convinced me to overcome my nerves and join a choir. What is more, after so long taking lessons with him, he continues to find new ways of challenging and improving my practice. It is no exaggeration to state that studying with Gadd has been life-changing: I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

I have been Gadd's student for over 2 years now. I have nothing but amazing words to share. From the beginning be has been interested in understanding my voice, my goals, what works and what doesn't work for me as well as focusing on the very technical side of things in each lesson. He is personable, flexible in making a lesson fit with your needs and has always been someone I can also have a laugh and fun with. Specifically: I got diagnosed with ADHD a year ago and finally understood a lot of my difficulties with keeping up with practice between sessions and remaining focused and engaged in sessions. Since then I have shared my difficulties, ways to help me get the best out of lessons and he has gone out of his way to learn and adapt our lessons (ie adding fun to the sessions, keeping drills quick and interesting when I forget to take my meds and have limited attention span, bringing in aids such as balancing balls and basic yoga concepts to keep me motivated and focused. I also realised that I have performance anxiety and being a psychotherapist I know exactly how to challenge myself to overcome this but it has still been hard and Gadd has done all be can to support me in a gentle way. I generally don't stick with hobbies and commitments for this long so this speaks volumes for how much I enjoy and how encouraged I have always felt by Gadd's lessons.
