Not fished yet but a very pretty location for a commercial fishery. Every lake is different with various holding area. The River Eden merits a look. Friendly staff and a secure location. Good little tackle shop. Looking forward to going back.

AMAZING!!! It is my last day and very sad to leave but feeling so blessed to have found this gem. The owners were so lovely and accomodating as I showed up late Friday evening looking for a place to rest. It was the sweet sound of psithurism all weekend which reminds me of my childhood days in Michigan.Cannot wait to return and see autumn leaves. This is definitely a slice of heaven if you are looking for peace and tranquility. The lakes and trails are lovely and there is plenty of room for everyone. On my checkout day I was allowed to stay a bit longer and soak the beauty of this place. Note that if you are seasoned fisherman then come here with an open mind as fishing spots vary in gazillion of sizes. If you are looking for quiet spot to fish with your kids then this is the place. If you are looking to fish in the size of a reservoir, then this is not the place. This is a place to relax and enjoy nature. Time on your own or with family and friends with a little fishing on my the side. Definitely worth visiting. By Sunday morning there were 250 likes on FB and 98 people asking where this place is; the photos spoke for themselves. Will come again and again.Thank you to the wonderful owners and Chris at reception. Namaste 🙏🏼

A very mixed experience I am afraid. Making a telephone booking and subsequently changing that, staff at Gabriel’s could not have been better. They were polite, friendly and efficient. Those virtues extended to the young lady working in the tackle shop the day we arrived to fish (30 July). She gave us clear directions to Admiral lake - where three of us had paid for day tickets - and where to park. Sure enough, the lake and promised parking were easy to find but that’s where events went downhill for us. We walked the full perimter of the lake to check out available swims before unpacking our gear but the sight that met us was ridiculous. Literally all swims bar one were occupied with some singles hosting two people. In short, there were simply too many people fishing what is still a very small and narrow water. Ignore the flowery description of the lake on Gabriel’s website, the experience is profoundly different. We had not seen the lake prior to the work to extend it but nature is going to have to work overtime to restore it to anything like it’s description. We left immediately and saw no point in raising our experience with the young lady at the tackle shop. She’s in no way responsible. We accept that the fishery is being run for commercial gain but some control of numbers fishing is needed. If what we evidenced is a sign of the owners policy, Admiral lake is now going to be routinely pressurised. We have chalked this one up to experience. I emailed Gabriel’s the following day to share our feedback, stated we weren’t expecting a refund and hoped that they would receive our comments in the spirit in which they offered. The same applies to this review.
