Great place for a social fishing event or just to take the family away camping and fishing. Very clay heavy ground so winter fishing will be a nightmare. That's why it gets 4 stars.

So this is a review with a double edged sword and it pains me a little to write it but you have to call it as it is. Firstly, the camping and the Spooky Woods, are just great for kids. Facilities are clean, staff are friendly and we've had a couple of fun experiences at Gabriel's over this Summer. But the disappointment has to be the fishing in the smaller fish lakes. Pretty much no fish in existence live in those ponds, I can testify. Changed location, changed bait, changed method, changed pond, changed days. Absolutely nothing, no bites, nothing. And not just us either, we met a number of fishermen and families over those days we fished packing up their bags leaving early because of the disappointment. The reason we always focus on small fish lakes at campsites with the kids is because of the constant action which is perfect for kids, rather than the size of the fish. Here, there is no action and no fish. Such a shame as we have had some fantastic times here at this campsite but the fishing side of it has been a real let down. Please restock your lakes!
