After a little deliberation over Christmas we decided we 'deserved' a new kitchen and did considerable research and 'shopping around'. Since we have no intention of moving again we decided to 'splash out' on a granite work surface. A kitchen firm mentioned GON granite so we took our courage in both hands and ventured into Wales! At the factory we were shown various granite samples, including huge pieces. We were impressed by the welcome we got, the time the staff were wiiling to spend answering queries and offering advice. We settled on a piece of granite and, shortly after, Simon came to measure up and cut out a template. Once again we were impressed, not least by his affability. They came to fit when they said they would and Simon's templates proved to be perfect. We were amazed that there was only one joint necessary, a worktop and peninsula breakfast bar coming from just 1 piece as was an 'across the corner' hob piece. This maintained the grain perfectly which is not easy when joining very random patterns. I don't often write reviews but we were so delighted with the whole process that I felt compelled to write.
