Excellent service by Anbu at the Gōng bar, very nice experience. The food was tasty and the drinks of course are great too. They were accommodating in getting us and other guests a window view. A must-do experience for anyone visiting London.

I booked the Gong lounge bar, as a last minute date night. I was very impressed, and a bit disappointed that I hadn't been here before. Ultimately the best views of London by far. I was greeted by a lovely lady in red (Sucheta). She tried her upmost to immediately accommodate us by a window seat. Unfortunately there wasn't any available at the time. Later on in the evening a few couples departed, and Sucheta had us upgraded to a corner aspect view of London. This was breathtaking. My wife so impressed. We ordered 2 snack dishes to nibble on, they were decent. The drinks were nice too. The waiters were all very polite, and not pushy at all. Overall this was a great experience. I will also be visiting the Oblix and Aqua Shard soon!

Popped by after work for a quick drink and snack. Venue was super busy but managed to squeeze me into the bar. Staff were very attentive and made excellent drinks. Lee was a superstar with recommendations and Tommaso made the most amazing cocktail. It was a tad pricey but what do you expect at the top of the Shard! Thanks for a great couple of hours, I will be back!

Absolutely appalling experience. Made a booking for myself, husband and disabled daughter who uses a powered wheelchair whilst in London on a short break. After a bad start to the evening and not being able to secure a taxi we took a 40 minute walk through rush hour to arrive at the Shard for our 6 o’clock booking which was stressful in itself with a wheelchair. We were informed on arrival that we could not be admitted due to our choice of footwear. The website for the Gong Restaurant states that dress code is smart casual, no shorts or sportswear. We were all dressed smartly but my husband was wearing a pair Ralph Lauren slip ons and I was wearing wedge type Crocs due to a previous foot injury. The lady at reception was quite condescending as was the Manager when I asked to speak to him. They were both unwilling to listen to any medical issues. Whilst waiting we watched a number of people booking in for the same restaurant who were quite shabbily dressed. This experience ruined our day and our daughter was very distressed as she couldn’t understand why after such a long walk we couldn’t go in. I very rarely say this but I wonder if this was disability discrimination as there was absolutely no empathy or compassion from both the receptionist or the manager. I suggest you update your website accordingly to avoid future upset to other visitors.

We had a confirmed reservation but were denied entry. Reason: „smart casual“ (as mentioned on their website) does not generally include white sneakers. Well, I suggest to google „smart casual“… According to the assistant general manager, this was „a grey zone“. If it‘s a grey zone, the dresscode should be changed to „business casual“ to avoid any doubt. While we were waiting, eight people were denied admission due to the same reason. Please make notes on the website - it‘s of no use for a guest when the bar decides „within a grey zone“ at the door, i.e. that might be too late for a guest who had packed for a London weekend already.

After having reservations for two months before arriving in London, smart casual did not work. Make sure that your shoes are appropriate for you will be turned away no matter how great you are dressed! NO exceptions!
