BrownPanda
#BrownPandaLikes Delicious Cokney classic Pie and Mash place. Pies served pipping hot with traditional style mash, so without any milk or butter. Served with liquor (parsley sauce) or gravy. I had to try both and they're both fabulous. Go for the liquor if you want a traditional London experience, or gravy if you prefer a saltier taste. You can add vinegar (or chilli vinegar) if you like. They also sell Jellied Eels, if it's something you like. And to finish, they have their homemade Apple Crumble that you can have with warm custard or cold ice-cream, as I couldn't settle for one, I had both of them. A must try!

I worked in the kitchen cooking pies and mash on a big coke fired Range. Got promoted to selling live eels and jelly on a stall outside the shop. Bill owned the shop and Criss was manageress. It was 1966 and I was 16 years old. I remember when Sue first worked in the shop. Great memories, must go back.
