Charlie, I can't thank you enough for the beautiful windmill dolls house you made for us. It is exquisite. Your attention to detail turned a simple toy into a real family heirloom. Our design brief was a wooden windmill that our toy mice might have made themselves from salvaged finds. You delivered on so many levels. Your choice of woods and the skill with which you worked them to make the most of the grain and character is super. We really appreciate all the details you included from the beautiful balustrading made from a folding ruler; a door made from an old Dutch cookie mold; stairs made from an antique cigar press, to the most intricately crafted rotating sails that fold away neatly when not in use. The mechanism to lock the sails is so elegant and works so well. It was lovely working with you from concept through to design to finished project. Thanks too for sharing the 'work in progress' - it was lovely to feel so much a part of the process despite working at a distance. Your combination of woodworking skills and imagination were just what this project needed! The windmill is utterly charming, totally unique and we love it.
