Having never used a designer before I was a little wary it might be bit like a "60 minute makeover" with someone putting their own interpretations and ideas over mine. It could not have been more different! Lucy was great from start to finish. She really listened to me, what I liked, and didn't like, took the time to understand how I wanted to use the space and got a sense of my style and taste and the overall look I wanted to achieve. While she did introduce patterns and concepts I would not have considered without her guidance, she quickly picked up on my responses and together we found the right ones for me. I have been much braver than I would have been on my own, but I trusted Lucy and the results are fabulous. The project covered 3 rooms of my house - kitchen, playroom and large living room with dining area. It was a mix match of furniture we had gathered over the years and I wanted to finally have things that matched, looked good but we were functional for our family. And what would have taken me ages pouring over websites and colour charts was a quick and painless process. I don't have a lot of spare time so having Lucy to do all the leg work was fabulous! I am delighted with it and have fallen in love with my house again! Thank you Lucy, and Furnish & Fettle for everything.

We were looking to refresh several rooms in our home, which included a modest extension to our kitchen dining area. It was imperative that we created the look and feel we wanted and that it was in keeping with our Victorian home. Working with Furnish & Fettle’s Harrogate shop has been brilliant - Helen McKay is our interior designer and has been absolutely great in not only coming up with ideas and advising us but also constructively challenging our thinking and introducing styles and designs we wouldn’t have thought of that look brilliant. Nothing is too small in detail and whilst some rooms have just needed wallpaper others have needed blinds, curtains, flooring and decorative items. With Helen’s support and direction our home is being transformed to meet our aspirations and within realistic budgets. The workmanship of the blinds/pelmets/curtains from measuring up to fitting has been superb and far exceeds anything we’ve had previously. I can not recommend F&F highly enough whether it’s for a small or large project.

Some of the initial advice we received was not what we wanted to hear but on reflection and thinking it over and talking to others we saw the sense in it and changed our minds and trusted in the expert and with a few tweaks to accommodate some of our thoughts we proceeded and were certainly not disappointed - and friends say 'wow' when they see the finished results in our home.

A beautiful little shop that's like a tardis inside, with one off quality pieces. The staff are highly trained Interior Designers that are experts in this field. Over the years I've had such good advice that's created me a beautiful home. They really do all have an eye for colour so if you are struggling for inspiration or advice, this shop should be your first port of call. It's a lovely warm friendly shop and their resident dog, Dougal is the icing on the cake.
