  Louisa Starr, of Starr Gazing Ceremonies is amazing. My father requested a colourful, casual celebration of his life, in place of the traditional funeral. A Land Rover Defender to arrive, bright colours, informal, and entertaining. Louisa met with the family, and kept in touch throughout, before and after his celebration. She styled his ceremony on Last of the Summer Wine, my dad’s fave programme, and this was hilarious. We have been inundated with comments from those who attended, stating they have never been to a funeral like it, and want to book Louisa for their own! If you want an alternative take on a funeral, above and beyond the usual, I cannot recommend Louisa Starr enough. Her care and compassion, and personal touch was very much needed and appreciated by my family.

  I can’t thank Louisa enough for how she ran the service at our Mum’s funeral. Mum wanted a ‘no frills’ cremation and wasn’t particularly religious, this was initially a concern for the family as we thought a traditional service with a vicar or priest was the only option? We needn’t have worried, Louisa sat down with us ahead of the service and took her time to get as much information as possible about Mum’s life, funny stories and her passions and thoughts on various things. Louisa then wrote a lovely service, and, whilst keeping it fairly light hearted, delivered it in a way that really explained Mum’s character and personality. Personally, I’ve always found religious services a bit too much ‘by the book’, pardon the pun! Louisa kept it fun, but balanced perfectly with the serious side of any funeral service. It made the day much more bearable and those that attended all commented on how nice it was. Thank you again for looking after us during such a difficult time.

  Louisa was recommended to me as the perfect celebrant for the funeral of my father. I am so incredibly glad she was as she did the most amazing job. With difficult circumstances Louisa was able to write the most wonderful eulogy and delivered it passionately. We had a strong focus on lyrics and music within the service and Louisa embraced this along with our live musician and what some might have considered an extensive playlist. Again Louisa celebrated this fact and embraced my visions and plans for the best send off we could possibly give to my Dad. I genuinely cannot recommend Louisa highly enough, and I will be endlessly grateful for her respect, compassion and empathy as well as her amazing way with words that saw her deliver the most wonderfully perfect eulogy for Dad. Thank you Louisa you were fab!

  I'd had months to think about what I wanted for my late Husbands funeral and knew I didn't want someone who didn't know John standing there droning on about where he was born and what school he went to, we've all been to those funerals! I wanted people to leave the service smiling and talking about what a life he had lived. I knew about Louisa from some mutual friends and from the start knew she was the right person to portray the smiley go getter that John was. She took time to meet John's family and friends and could probably have talked for hours with the stories they told about him. The service was funny and touching and definitely told the true story of our very own Mr Brightside. We are led to believe that respect means solemn and sober , but surely respect means remembering that person in the way they lived their life and Louisa did this perfectly. If you want someone to really get to know your loved one then Louisa is perfect.

  Cannot recommend Louisa highly enough, she listened to everything we talked about and conducted such a beautiful personal service. Her portrayal of my dads life was just perfect almost as if she knew him personally. Our whole family cannot thank her enough for delivering such a true to life service and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

  Louisa was our celebrant for my mum's funeral. She came to meet us and listened while we talked about mum. Louisa sent a proof over a couple of days before the day. She did a fantastic job on the day. Everyone said it was a lovely service. If you are looking for a celebrant rather than a trade funeral I would highly recommend her. Thank you so much Louisa for giving my mum a good send off I think she would of been very Happy.

  My late wife had already decided she wanted Louisa to be the celebrant for her service: she didn't want anything conventional or stuffy, and meeting to plan beforehand, Louisa made me feel at ease and that the occasion was in safe hands. She listened well and researched impeccably, and delivered a service that was warm and personal, a celebration of a life which was engaging and carried so much positive energy. I've receive numerous comments from friends and relatives since saying it was unlike any other funeral they'd attended, and that they felt it was special and truly captured her spirit.

  I recently had the pleasure of meeting Louisa Starr of Starr Gazing Ceremonies when she conducted a service to celebrate my late Mum’s life. She spent time chatting with us and other family members to get to know all about Mum. Louisa captured her personality perfectly, warmly and with some humour. I was so pleased we had chosen Louisa and many people commented afterwards how personal and a little different the service was, and they would defiantly use her in the future. We asked for Louisa in person, there are several celebrants to choose from, Louisa is less traditional than some, and delivered a refreshing and true celebration of Mum’s life. I wouldn’t hesitate to choose Louisa again, it was a pleasure, such a friendly lady.
