Great camp site, huge fields, pitch where you like, camp fires wherever you like, great stream to swim in. Good location for Durdle Door and Weymouth.

We stayed a long weekend here with friends at the start of the school holidays. The kids loved it - they all gathered and gossiped at the hay bales. Ground is flat but watch out for exploding flint with your fires! Toilets are long drops but cleaned and restocked daily (better than portaloos anyway). Showers were nice and hot (gas fired) and washing up / drinking water stations dotted around. There was a little shop for fire wood & marshmallows that opened 5-7pm. The kids also loved playing in the stream (both little ones & bigger ones). Location is perfect - 20-30 mins and you are at any point on the Jurassic Coast. Monkey World & the Tank Museum are also next door.

We went in July. I think the site has more in August. It's very basic facilities. But the river is lovely. Be aware that the ground has a lot of flint...can be difficult to pitch a tent.

Relaxing lush meadows, refreshing clear river for swimming and paddling in, pleasant walk across farmland to the village café and beautiful Walled Gardens.

UPDATE: Second time there. Still wonderful. River water height seems to vary quit a lot. Peaceful place and freedom practically anywhere.
