Proper shabby old no-frills boozer. One of a dying breed well worth preserving as, at the very least they had a decent choice on the cask front. Service from the young barman was excellent as he apologised for the wait while he finished off a big round (and the landlord seemingly faffed around in the back bar). Redeeming feature though was the choice of Wantsum and Nelson ales and I went for the Wantsum Montgomery APA.

Had a lovely drink in here on our first visit to Gillingham. This pub came across as extra friendly because of its great group of locals who made us feel welcome from the moment we sat at the bar. Good beer with good company.
