What a pity. Every time I come to the Isle of Wight I make a point of getting down to Freshwater to support the lifeboat by buying something in the shop. This time I couldn't. Although the shop was well stocked, I couldn't go in and browse as it was counter service only and no one was allowed in. The lady serving at the window was hard of hearing and I eventually managed to get her to understand that I wanted 2x icecreams. These were stale with soft cones. That's not the way to generate much needed funds. I wish you well but fear that worst. I will make a donation but may not bother returning.

With grateful thanks to Brian at the Lifeboat who administered 1st Class First Aid to me on Sunday. I had injured my shin on the pedal of my bike. Excellent job and advice. Really impressed.

Great beach for not being a sandy one! Shallow enough near the shore that the kids can play and splash, a car park across the street and the Freshwater Lifeboat has a shop selling tea, coffee and ice cream (and lots of other things too). Saturday's during the summer there are two food trucks on site (Stripped burger van has delicious food) and the Traveling Tavern to get a drink. Always a good time down at the Bay!
