  Fresh Start Living (Beth & Jon Miller) transformed our home into a light, airy space. They oversaw the whole project, from appointing and liaising with the architect, submitting planning applications, putting the construction out for tender, project-managing throughout, and working with us on all aspects of interior design. Through them, we were able to take advantage of various trade discounts for the most substantial purchases, not least kitchen and bathrooms. Not only has the added extension, outwards and upwards, provided us with exactly the additional space we were seeking, in a rather ingenious and creative way, but the interior design offers a fabulous sense of flow throughout the home. We are totally delighted with Fresh Start Living, their innovative approach, and consequently we highly recommend them.   Jon and Beth were brilliant from the start. We had very few ideas but they listened to what we did (and didn’t want) and created some beautiful ideas. At a particular crunch point we were doubting our original extension plans but, having listened to our original plan for the space, they were able to give us advice and we are so pleased we listened. They sourced many products that we would not have found and were also able to suggest some local tradespeople who did a fantastic job. They were also incredibly patient and continued to be responsive to all our questions and queries.   We asked Beth and Jon to help us redesign our two living rooms (one of which we rarely used) and, in particular, to bring some colour into our décor as we hadn’t the confidence to move away from neutral shades. From the start we were confident that they were listening to us and getting a good idea of what we liked and what we might consider. They also challenged us to be bolder about some of our choices and were able to put us in contact with a very good builder, suppliers and furniture makers we would never have found ourselves. It turned out to be a big project but we are delighted with the outcome. Both rooms have their own character and we are now getting the benefit of using both equally. We’ve also had very positive feedback from friends and family about our new look. We would recommend Beth and Jon. They don’t have pre-conceived ideas about how a home should look and are flexible in their approach but also strong enough to stand by their designs. Overall, we followed their advice, even though we sometimes had misgivings, and we don’t regret that as they were right! Service: Living room design

They really listen, have a great black book of really quality contractors and trades, and absolutely go the extra mile. Working with them has been one of the best decisions we’ve made in renovating our house and we are excited for the next project!

  I have worked with Fresh Start Living on two projects now - testament to our extremely positive experience the first time around! Beth and Jon helped first on our master bedroom and en-suite and subsequently our kitchen, where they have both designed the layout and the ‘look and feel’ of the rooms. As these were our first significant projects, I started out feeling very overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start with piecing everything together. There seemed to be so many decisions to make and everything was taking a lot of time to research (especially when we had little idea of where to start looking). What’s more, we were investing a lot into the work so wanted to make sure it actually looked good at the end. This is where Beth and Jon really helped us out. There were many positives to the experience: - Great designs that challenged our pre-conceived ideas. Working with Beth and Jon means we now have a much more interesting house with many features that we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves. Had we not worked with them, we would have likely defaulted to ‘what we knew’ and ended up with something a lot less inspired - Responsiveness to queries and ideas. For example, if I had a question on what rug would look good in a certain room, they were able to quickly get back with suggestions (they must have a an encyclopaedic knowledge of the internet and where to source items!). Similarly, they provided helpful advice on thing like structural issues and party wall agreements, which was very helpful for us navigating this all for the first time - Patience with iteration - they understood that things sometimes take time to evolve and were always willing to explore different options with us. Great for someone like me who can be very indecisive - Simplifying the whole process - I think this was one of the biggest positives, especially as I was quite busy at the time of the work. They provided a set of documents (a pdf/ppt, and an excel spreadsheet with details of everything I needed to buy and where I could source it) for each room. I was able to use this to brief the builders, and to make the purchasing of items a whole lot easier. I could refer back to these at any point during the work, which helped me feel a bit more in control (when everything with the actual builders got a bit overwhelming!!) I would have no hesitation in recommending Fresh Start Living, especially if you are looking to be inspired and to take some of the weight off your own shoulders when conducting work!   I cannot recommend Beth and Jon at Fresh Start highly enough. They have made what could have been an extremely stressful, complicated project both stress free and exciting. From our initial Zoom meeting I had a strong feeling they were exactly what we needed. My husband and I are busy people, both working and studying at the moment, whilst also managing 3 small children and a dog. We knew we didn’t have the time, or let’s be honest the imaginations to come up with the right design for our rear ground floor extension. From our first meeting I felt they asked all the right questions to get from us what we wanted from the project and our new space. They have been transparent about their fees and I believe have gone above and beyond for us, always answering questions in a timely manner, sourcing items and coming up with alternatives. They have helped us to make bold choices that we are excited about and confident with, something I know we would have struggled with if left to our own devices. The level of attention to detail has been exceptional, with careful consideration of the smaller details given the same importance as some of the bigger decisions. We have loved working with them so much that we have already commissioned them to do another room in our house. And hope to use them again when tackling upstairs..! I have been verbally recommending them to friends and family that are contemplating doing any work on their house as the time and money (and arguments!) they have saved us has been invaluable. Following our initial consultation, Beth produced a detailed and comprehensive list of suggestions for both the design element and the items that we would need to purchase which made the process very straight-forward. Our queries were responded to promptly and the overall cost of the project was in line with the budget that we shared with Beth at the outset.   Fresh Start Living have recently helped us to enhance an existing lost conversion and we are delighted with the results. We wanted to transform what was a little used spare bedroom and unused separate bathroom (with no natural light) into a master bedroom with en suite. We knew we needed to add a dormer to improve the head height, and had some ideas about how we wanted it, but Jon and Beth took those basics and helped us at every stage from considering floor plan options, creating a specification and seeking the right builders, through to the interior design and product sourcing. Throughout the process I really felt like they listened and understood what we needed from the space, and when it came to the design and finishing, really seemed to get our tastes. I love everything about the products and colour scheme Beth came up with and really love the finished rooms. Although it is 100% to my taste, I wouldn't have been able to come up with it myself, and might not have been bold enough to choose some of the colours without the encouragement - I am so grateful! Finally, I also felt they took a lot of the stress and uncertainty out of doing the work - particularly because of the assistance with selecting a builder and the product sourcing. Regarding the products, Beth guided me on timings to ensure we were always prepared, and I also felt I actually had a full handle on what all the finishing would cost, which is something I have struggled with on previous home improvements. I want to say a huge thank you - we absolutely love the space now and if I could I would have Fresh Start Living reimagine the whole house!   Beth & Jon were absolutely wonderful to work with to plan our new kitchen. They offered a wide menu of services, including full interior design, product sourcing and project management, but were really happy to support us with a smaller-scale project of designing the layout of our new kitchen. They were really efficient, and extremely patient with us when we came back several times requesting changes in the layout! In the end they have created a great flow for the kitchen that accommodated our heritage furniture, idiosyncratic Victorian house, our own taste and the needs of our young family. A big ask, but brilliantly done. The plans were so clear and detailed that the trades can work straight from them As the icing on the cake, they put us in contact with our reliable builder and kitchen designer, making the whole process of planning our kitchen refurb much more swift and efficient than it could have been at a time when everyone was booked up.   We instructed Jon & Beth to help us best configure the ground floor layout whilst also adding an open plan kitchen extension. They listened to our needs and produced several options for our consideration in 2D & 3D which, really helped visualise the designs. We also instructed them to assit us obtain quotes which they did. We are looking forward to seeing the designs materialise once the work is done.
