I’d thoroughly recommend French for Fun as a course and Ellie as a teacher. My daughter and I access the classes online and find them very enjoyable and engaging. My teenager has found the classes useful as additional practice prior to exams, and they’re perfect for boosting my holiday French. Learning a language is great for keeping the brain active at all ages, and this is an ideal way to do it!

I love my lessons with Ellie. I used to be so nervous about speaking French in front of people that I just forgot every word I knew. Ellie knows exactly when to correct you and when to ignore minor mistakes and is so positive and encouraging that I don't mind talking now. The lessons are also really relevant and useful vocabulary that we actually use in daily life and conversation so are steadily building a really solid foundation of French. I love the structure of the lessons and we somehow fit so much into an hour but it isn't too overwhelming. The other students are also really nice and I have made some lovely friends. I hope to continue having lessons for as long as possible ☺️.

Ellie, our teacher, is brilliant! She makes us feel relaxed while we learn and we have lots of opportunities for conversation, as well as grammar and vocabulary. Topics this term have ranged from famous French architects, to the many types of French bread you find in the boulangerie. Highly recommended!

Language for Fun, does everything it says on the tin!! Ellie is an extremely patient teacher and I have learnt a great deal. The classes are fun, not at all like lessons at school, and we have covered so many aspects of France and the French language.

Ellie's classes are delightful, easy going and fun. Set at a reasonable pace so you don't feel overwhelmed, with lots of vocabulary practice sessions online if you feel you would like them. A balanced mixture of conversational French with grammar and vocabulary, Ellie is always patient, encouraging and adaptable. Thoroughly recommended.
