We really enjoyed the Breakfast and French toast, especially the beans in the Breakfast. Marika was very kind and accommodating. Please note that the French toast in the photo is Deconstructed as per my request.

Coffee is great but service not so good. The lady at the counter was busy chatting with a customer friend when I arrived and I had to wait for ages before politely interrupting in order to be served. This seemed to irritate her and she called out my order to a barista and took my payment while continuing her conversation without any eye contact at all with me, let alone a "thank you". After waiting 5 mins and seeing the barista was now out waiting tables, i realised she probably hadn't heard the woman at the counter and my order had been missed. I decided to check the status but, without even turning her head to look at me or notice the missing barista, the counter lady just said "It is coming, we're just busy". I stood for another 5 mins before a polite man ( i assume the manager) noticed I'd been waiting there like a lemon for over 10 mins for takeaway coffee and came to see what the delay was. Instead of taking responsibility, the counter lady initially blamed and berated a completely unrelated member of staff for the mix-up before realising her mistake and blaming the original barista. Still no apology to me or even the slightest acknowledgement of the now lengthy delay. The original barista was equally charmless; when told what had happened she replied "Oh. Oh well". In total it was a full 18 mins of waiting before I eventually got my takeaway coffee. Yes the place was fairly busy (only a couple of empty tables) but there were more than enough staff working and nobody else seemed to be ordering coffee. To rub salt in the wound, when I momentarily put my drink down on a table outside, it took less than 10 seconds for a waiter to come over and tell me I wouldn't be able to sit down with a takeaway coffee. I had no intention of doing so, i was just momentarily replying to a message on my phone. All in all a weird experience - but the coffee itself was great.

Will come back to try the other dishes in their menu! This is just a small café but they have sumptuous food! I had banoffee waffle and a cappuccino to pair with it. My friends ordered french toast and chilli scrambled eggs which also looked good! They also had some cake slices from the counter - will try them next time.

Called before to come with my dog and they said yes. When I arrived there were 2 dogs the same size (though less fluffy) and was told my dog was too big and I could not be seated. Very rude. They did not offer to be sat outside.

Franze & Evans makes the most beautiful and delicious cakes!! I ordered the Tiramisu cake and it was beautifully presented and it tasted exactly like a tiramisu ( better). They are also very helpful and very quick at responding if you have any question.

It took about an hour for our food to come, people who had come after us got their food and left and our table of four hadn’t. When we asked why it was taking so long, the younger waitress just told us to wait without even checking where the food was, finally spoke to someone else who went and checked on the order. I could see him visibly annoyed with the staff about the food. When we got the food it was cold. Not even Luke warm. The owner didn’t apologise, she began trying to justify why others had got their food before us. She said that they were very busy so they could only remake our eggs for us and take off the cost of our drinks. By the time the eggs arrived the rest of food had gone cold. Not to mention the owner practically snatched our plates off us after handing us the eggs. Refunding us the cost of drinks does not go even half way to reimbursing us for a spoilt Saturday brunch. Avoid.

The food is generally good and I’ve been a few times since my boyfriend lives in the area, but after some bad experiences with the staff I don’t think we will be coming back soon. We were served by a rude waitress today, who was not accommodating at all (we asked to sit in one of the many empty tables available and she denied, making us share one with unknown people, even thought the restaurant was quite empty - only to sit another couple who walked in there a few minutes after). My partner asked for extra salmon for his dish, which costed £4,5, and honestly it was almost a joke: only a thin, tiny layer of fish - for the price it was a very bad deal. I really used to enjoy brunch here but I now believe there are better options in the neighbourhood. I hope they will eventually go back to the service quality standard they once had.
