Francesco designed and project managed a loft conversion and ground floor refurbishment for us in our house in Brixton. Francesco excelled in all areas, from helping us with the concept of our renovations to guiding us through implementation. He was very patient (we took a long time from initial contact to getting going!) and was there to offer advice on any and all aspects of the practical and the aesthetic. As a working couple with two young kids and minimal time to think about anything properly we relied on him a lot and he delivered to an extremely high level. We are absolutely delighted with the outcome, and would attach pictures if we were able to keep any of the rooms tidy for more than five minutes!

We had to renovate our kitchen and bathroom, and a friend highly recommended Francesco Pierazzi, and she was right! Francesco is extremely available and patient; during our numerous meetings he listened to what we wanted, developed a clear vision of the project and worked with us to find the best solution to our requests. During the project he was present and supportive. He has a profound understanding of materials and a strong sense of space and light. To achieve what we wanted, he came up with ideas which were creative, sensitive, practical and pleasant to the eye, yet never banal. Plus we finished within budget, which always helps! Everyone who has seen our new kitchen and bathroom is very complimentary – they can’t help but notice the quality of his work and attention to detail. During our meetings we had the opportunity to get to know Francesco beyond the architect: he is a warm, kind person and, between taking technical decisions, we enjoyed talking about exhibitions, books and food - who doesn’t like porcini mushrooms? We just can’t recommend Francesco highly enough!

Francesco was recommended by my daughter, for whom he had worked on her house in Pimlico.Having had other experiences with architects we were immediately struck how Francesco LISTENED to what we wanted and didn’t try and force any pre-conceived ideas onto us – whilst making very welcome gentle suggestions. All his ideas were spot-on and we were delighted with the result and hope to work with him on our new home. His strengths are making the most of the light coming in to house – opening and brightening every thing up. He is also a genius at making the most of the space available, making the most of what is there (which is what we wanted) rather than suggest drastic (and expensive) options. However, if a drastic overhaul is needed (as was the case with my daughter), he is also up for that! Francesco was also a delight to work with – very responsive and understanding of the brief (both practical and financial). Nothing (however trivial) was too much trouble. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Child's Play Nursery

Francesco worked with us to create a kitchen/diner addition. I had very few fixed notions of what I wanted at the beginning, which meant that Francesco had to tease out the requirements, aspiration & personal preferences from discussions & observations during the time that he invested in getting to know myself, my family & our somewhat unique circumstances. One of the most enduring requirements that I had was that the building should reflect & sit comfortably within the outdoor environment which we are passionate about & that it’s structure should not detract from the view of the garden available from the existing doors & windows. The design was inspired, with its angled roofs & the use of ceiling timbers; that not only protected the view of the garden, but also enhanced it – drawing your eye towards the garden & creating walls of glass which in effect form living interactive wallpaper. Working to create a modern extension to an Edwardian house on the edge of a conservation area, Francesco’s knowledge of the local planning department’s objectives & his experience of working with them made a great difference to the speed & associated cost of the planning application. Francesco undertook all communication with the planning department, simplifying the process & ensuring that the outcome was an extension to our home which improved the functionality of the building & the way that we live in it & that simply makes us very happy. Francesco’s passion for the project, attention to detail, selection of materials & finish made all of the difference to the outcome of his projects. But, where he truly excels, is how he works with natural light & shadows to create an atmosphere which lifts your spirits & soothes your soul. I highly recommend Francesco
