(Translated by Google) Nice place, right across from the Turner Center for Contemporary Art. Sea across the road. Food is delicious. Roof terrace. It was a good time here. Comortable rooms, style 60-70 years, nice restourant. Terner Contemporary is opposite the hotel. Beautiful view!💕 (Original) Приятное местечко, прямо напротив Центра современного искусства Тернера.Море через дорогу.Еда вкусная. Терраса на крыше. It was a good time here. Just had a few days at this hotel. We chose it for a few reasons. It’s next to the Turner Contemporary Museum and it’s sort of in the foody end of town. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open yet in the evening but apparently “coming soon”. Rooms are small but perfectly formed. Comfortable beds, very clean etc. so don’t bring your cat. Staff are very friendly, there’s a nice bar and a lovely roof terrace where you can watch the sun go down. We did a great walk along the coast from Ramsgate to the hotel, highly recommended by the way. And nothing to do with the hotel. Catch the train to Ramsgate and then walk back. Quick thing. Turner Contemporary is closed on Monday and loads of restaurants seem to be closed on Sunday and Monday, so check first.

My husband and I were in town for the evening, and I'd booked ahead with high expectations. Dinner was good, and the service was fine, too. I felt the greeting was a bit odd when we entered ('Can I help you?')... it was almost as though we'd mistakenly come to the wrong building. The greeting for other guests, maybe regulars, was a bit more welcoming. We had two mains, two sides, and two desserts, which came to £79 with service included. The risotto was perfect.

A beautiful hotel, restored with great skill. The staff are friendly and professional. It is ideally situated for the Turner Contemporary and Margate Old Town and is just a few yards from the beach. Rooms: We had a glorious room which was flooded with light. There is original artwork on the wall, a selection of interesting and relevant books available and a selection of plants to make us feel at home. Fresh coffee is supplied and a selection of teas, with still and sparkling water and milk in the fridge. The bed is very comfortable with lovely linen. The bathroom is well laid out with excellent toiletries. Walkability: Fort Road Hotel is up quite a steep hill. There is no on-site parking.

Very occasionally somewhere impresses the socks right off you - The Fort Hotel did exactly that for us. The rooms were immaculate and tastefully curated, the location perfect and service warm and genuine. The attention to detail is apparent everywhere from the decor to the quality and presentation of food served. Nothing was too much trouble for Emmanuel and his team who run a tight ship without taking themselves too seriously. If you get a clear evening, be sure to grab a cocktail and watch the sun sinking into the sea from the rooftop terrace. Highly recommend.
