Spent thousands of pounds over the year's in this shop went in too buy my grandson's a rc car and the staff wasn't very helpful and made me & my grandson's feel very uncomfortable indeed :( and everything I asked for they never had it in and had no stock in, shelves very empty and even my grandson of 6yrs old said how come there's no models in a model shop grandad haha, wasn't a nice experience and never made too feel welcome at all and kept on saying too my grandson's don't touch this don't touch that , defoe won't be going back here in a hurry that's for sure iyl go too a place were a model shop sells models and not empty shelves haha

As a returning customer from 20+yrs ago when I was a keen R/C fanatic, I've been so happy to return to Formby Models after so long and see this fantastic local, small business still doing so well! I’ve had a steep learning curve, returning to the hobby with some expensive mishaps and mistakes! I ordered a JDM Tamiya model, which was to be developed as an RC Drag car. The team here are outstanding! Always keen to give you honest expert advice, so helpful and friendly! Phil took the time to help recommend the best combination of speed controller, LiPo batteries and motor to give this car acceleration timed at Santa Pod of 0-60 in under 2seconds and attracted a crowd of spectators.. Thank you so much! I'll try not to break it again now ;)

Great shop and always value for money. I’ve been a customer of this shop for over 48 years and the owners have always been very knowledgeable and takes the time to sell me what i need and not what I thought I needed, this has saved me a lot of money over the years and they have always following this up with a great and affordable after sale service. Good quality and traditional service like this is so hard to find nowadays and certainly can’t be replicated by online sellers. Keep up the good work 👍

Great store with plenty of options and very reasonable prices. I like to walk here and buy what I need because it’s nicer than ordering online and waiting a few days to get what I’m after. Stock is always high quality and staff are very knowledgable on all items they sell.

Went in to get my sons model train fixed after trying a few shops. Went in, the lads fixed it straight away no issues and because it was such a small job they didn’t even charge me 👌🏻 Won’t ever go anywhere again for this kind of stuff. Thanks lads
