Foresters Hall is a beautiful hotel with outside seating areas, and a heated swimming pool situated in the garden landscape design. Inside the hotel there are beautiful comfy bedrooms, and drawing rooms with fascinating character beaming with the history of the building. When this was North House - good service, quality staff, quality treatment and amazing good. The Sunday Roast I fully endorse! Been since for a tasting experience with new owners and new Michele star chef. It was a great experience to do once but too expensive to repeat. Not the place to call in for coffee or lunch that it once was. I feel it is living off a reputations built by previous owners and a well known new chef. Time will tell whether they settle to build their own new one. A rebrand/new name was a good idea.

We booked to have dinner at Foresters Hall a week before. We received the confirmation email with the time and date, and the day before was called to confirm out dinner choice. Once we arrived it was closed and locked. A man came to the door and said they are not open today, and he said he doesn’t know how this happened. We where made to feel like it was our fault that we had booked on the wrong day or location. We left confused and disappointed. We went in a few days later to ask why this had happened, and where told "We didn't have any bookings". But we had the email confirmation and the phone call from their number. We had also booked on a day where on their web site it says they are open. Their attitude to be blameless and that we, the customer, where wrong was upsetting.

We wanted to once again thank Sarah, Peter & Alice as well as the entire team at Foresters Hall for a very warm welcome and for keeping the best hotel on the Isle of Wight alive and well! Whilst everything was perfect with our stay, the apple tart from the tapas menu deserves a very special mention - it was exceptionally good. We hope to see you again soon, Frankie, Serge & Alice

Fabulous food experience at North House with their Sunday lunch tasting menu prepared so perfectly by head chef Robert Thompson and his first-class crew. Robert welcomed us personally; he is such a talented and amiable chap you feel like you’ve known him forever. The presentation, service and imaginative dishes were all faultless - we'll be back, soon!

Just had a lovely evening at North House. Tapas in the bar. Exceptional. Delicious. Even whipped up a Mocktail for me as I don’t take alcohol. Nothing too much trouble. What a treat. Service : 5/5 | Location : 5/5 … More

We have followed chef Robert Thompson around the island from when he first started up in Ventnor, and have always found his food to be exceptional, better than any other Michelin starred chef’s food. Last night’s meal was absolute perfection - 8 courses of imaginative and delicious food. The Isle of Wight is very lucky he’s stayed so loyal, you’d pay double this in London. The wine list too was creative and good value. Highly recommended.
