If I could, I'd give the receptionist at this practice 0 stars. I can't speak for them all, but there is one woman specifically who you'd think was held at gun point and made to do her job. You'd never think she willingly applied to be a receptionist because whenever you call with basic queries, she'll respond to you like you're asking for the world. A horrible tone of voice, disgusting towards people with repeat prescriptions, judgemental over general queries and an all round nasty piece of work. She needs to be gone ASAP.

My partner and I have been patients at The Forest Practice for over 13 years and I can only say good things about this surgery. They have really looked after our health over the years. The receptionists are very efficient and I always gets a doctors call the same day. The GP’s are all excellent, explain everything and do what they say. Special thanks to Leona the Diabetic Nurse who has been invaluable over the years assisting us with maintaining our levels. Also the practice nurses and the pharmacists and administration team that keep the cogs moving. We are going to miss you all and thank you for everything again!

Rude receptionists and practice manager. Doctors and Nurses are amazing though. It is near enough impossible to get an appointment when I attempt on a once a year basis for a genuine reason. I was just on the phone for over an hour to get booked a phone appointment out of hours (not by practice staff) next week for something that is definitely an in person thing. The last thing I needed an appointment for I called nhs and went a different route. What is the point?!

They tell you to call at 8am for available phone appointments on the day. Took me 5 attempts just to enter the queue line. I am number 30 in the queue and an awful music is being played. Feeling a lot worse already. Wish me luck reaching my turn. Don’t think I’ll survive this 😫

Worth persisting in the morning. New patients at the Forest Practice may not realise the excellent system they have in place. The Doctors would rather see people who need to see them now rather than weeks later. So they hold back large numbers of same day appointments. So yes come 8am it is a bit of a bun fight. You may have to sit with your phone hitting redial a few times, then get into a queue and wait. But a simple sharing of your name, date of birth and a simple summary of your problem will get you a phone back from the GP of your choice (if you have a preference) often within the hour or so. If you need to come in they will arrange that, but they will often solve the problem over the phone. I cannot speak highly enough of this surgery and the fact that you can settle on a doctor that knows your case works really well if you are a complex patient like me with lots of issues and medicines that all interact with each other. The fact that you cant tend to book an appointment if you call in the afternoon is in my mind VASTLY outweighed by the system of being able to get a same day. If you persist I have never failed to get an appointment when I need one and over the years there are several times where swift action by the GPs have prevented me from needing a hospital admission.

So disappointed with the way your treated & talked to by the Reception staff. Iv been with practice for over 10years. Last few years service from reception staff has deteriorated. Doctors are fab but awful reception staff. They literally scream over the phone. Reluctant to give an appointment & suggested we go to the pharmacy even though we needed steroids to overcome the problem which had occurred previously!

I would like to thank the reception staff, doctors and nurses at this practice for caring for us and doing all they can to help under extremely difficult circumstances mainly out of their control - particularly in the last couple of years. They have upgraded the phone system too which works much more efficiently for us now and yes theres times you cant get an appointment on the day but thats sheer demand and has/will likely always, be the way. Reception are always friendly and helpful despite being under a lot of pressure and I am very grateful to them for their help and efficiency. THANK YOU, I value your service.
