What is the teacher-to-student ratio in your kindergarten?

At Forest Kindergarten Sevenoaks, we maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio to ensure that each child receives individual attention and support. Our ratio is typically one teacher for every six to eight students.

What is the curriculum and daily schedule for children in your kindergarten?

Our curriculum is designed to provide a holistic, nature-based education that fosters creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning. We incorporate outdoor activities, nature walks, art, music, and storytelling into our daily schedule. Our program follows the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which focuses on seven areas of learning and development.

What is the discipline policy for children who misbehave?

Our approach to discipline is based on positive reinforcement and conflict resolution. We prioritize open communication and encourage children to express their feelings and needs. When a child misbehaves, we work with them to understand the impact of their actions and to find a solution that promotes empathy, respect, and responsibility.

Are there extracurricular activities offered at your kindergarten?

We offer a range of extracurricular activities that complement our nature-based curriculum. These include yoga, gardening, cooking, and music lessons. We also organize special events and celebrations throughout the year, such as seasonal festivals and parent-child picnics.

A fully outdoor forest school that teaches children that we are a part of nature as they are immersed in the woodland, playing, climbing, digging, appreciating the beauty of the woods. I cannot recommend this setting highly enough and wish that all children could experience this.

A fabulous kindergarten and school holiday camp. My little one spends all day outside, playing, running, imagining. He's a more centered and creative child because of this environment and their wonderfully calm and approachable staff. If you're wondering if this is the right place for you, contact them and go for a visit, you won't regret it.

My boys love going to Forest Kindergarten - its been a hugely valuable experience for developing their self confidence and physical abilities. They explore the woods in all weathers and learn about the seasons first hand. The teachers are amazing and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They really take the time to get to know the children and their families and provide such a caring and stimulating environment. The children are taught to respect and protect the woodland, to safely enjoy a campfire, work as a team and also appreciate the calmness of the woods. I love how my children can be singing, digging, running, crafting, climbing or playing superheroes one minute, and then have quiet time with a book in the hammock the next. Holiday club with the older kids is brilliant fun too! By Sarah M, with M aged 3 and J aged 4.

My son has started going here this year, 2 days a week. As a very active 3 year old who loves being outdoors playing all the time, this has been super fun for him. My friend did it with her 2 kids too, so it came highly recommended.

My 2 boys have both loved the numerous holiday sessions at Forest Kindergarten that they've been to. They particularly like the freedom they're given to decide what activities they want to do and they are particularly happy when those activities involve mud, digging or doing things with sticks! All the staff are really great with the kids and it is nice that they allow mixed ages to play together.

We've been sending our two children to the holiday camps with Caroline and the team for the past three years and they absolutely love them and we can't recommend them highly enough. It's the one thing that when asked what they'd like to do over the holidays they choose whatever the time of year. We've come home with dream catchers, bows, arrows and most importantly two kids that have had a lot of fun!
