My husband I visited at the end of August and were in absolute heaven by how lovely and awesome this location is. We stayed in the Savannah Yurt which is like being in Africa on a safari. The surrounding woodland is beautiful and has so much to discover. Charles and Lisa are the most briliant hosts that anyone could have. We highly recommend this fantastic place to anybody. Definitely the most gorgeous location to stay. Thank you so much to you both. Charlotte & Matt

Gorgeous stay for 2 nights in the Kushti yurt, looks even better than the photos! Great place to escape from city life and just enjoy doing not very much at all. It was exactly what we needed. Forest Garden is a hidden gem just an hour away from London, and we are so looking forward to booking again. Rooms : 5/5 | Service : 5/5 | Location : 5/5 … More

I’ve just spent a wonderfully restorative week at Lisa and Charles’ beautiful space and highly recommend it if you’re looking to disconnect and unwind for a bit. That being said, there are also some fantastic coffee shops and pubs nearby so you can enjoy some of those vibes too if you like. Definitely glad I came! This a picturesque site made up of a few cabins and a couple of yurts, each set in woodland, far enough from each other not to disturb one another, but close enough if you want to rent more than one for a group. Lisa and the staff are charming and could not be more welcoming and helpful. Our yurt, Savannah, was clean, spacious, tastefully decorated, well equipped and very comfortable. There were four of us staying and my two daughter slept on the futon and the day bed. The day bed was perhaps a bit small for my 12-year old. There is a log burner in the yurt which ket us cosy and a 2-ring gas hob. Outside there's a sort of fire pit BBQ grill (called a Weber BBQ apparently) with logs to sit on and toast your marshmallows and make your campfire bread (which we did). The yurt stands on a wooden deck where there are also a couple of seats – if you want more then you should bring your own camping chairs. For cleaning, it was just a minute or two to walk up to the two showers, two toilets and two pairs of large butler sinks for washing up. They were all extremely high standard by most camping/glamping standards. Location: What with Covid-disrupted plans, it was a case of what was still available, but, oh, did we get lucky. The site is about and 1-1.5hrs south of London on the edge of the Ashdown Forest (aka Pooh's Hundred Acre Wood). It is surrounded by the High Weald and charming villages with excellent pubs – we sampledthe Hatch Inn, where the friendly staff managed to persuade a troupe of Morris dancers, who'd been drinking for a while, to give an impromptu performance. We stayed only two nights and would have loved to stay so much longer. Our highlight must have been grilling locally-sourced steaks on the fire pit, toasting marshmallows and making campfire bread, then lying down on the decking to look at the stars and watch the Perseid meteor shower. Magical. We hope to return.
