FAQ

What safety measures do you have in place to ensure the well-being of the campers?

At FluCamp, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our campers. We have a comprehensive safety protocol that includes regular health screenings, thorough cleaning and disinfecting of common areas and equipment, and strict adherence to social distancing guidelines. Our staff is also trained to respond quickly and appropriately to any illness or injury that may arise.

What are the types of activities offered at your camp?

We offer a wide range of activities at FluCamp, including outdoor sports and games, arts and crafts, team-building exercises, and educational workshops. Our goal is to provide a fun and engaging experience for our campers while also promoting personal growth and development.

What is the age range of campers that you cater to?

We cater to campers between the ages of 8 and 16. We believe that this age range allows us to provide age-appropriate activities and programming while also creating a diverse and inclusive community of campers.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio at your camp?

At FluCamp, we maintain a low camper-to-counselor ratio in order to provide individualized attention and support to each camper. Our ratio is typically 6:1, although this may vary depending on the specific needs and dynamics of each cabin group.

What is your policy on refunds in case of cancellations?

We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise that require campers to cancel their registration. In such cases, we offer a full refund of the registration fee if the cancellation is made at least 30 days prior to the start of the session. If the cancellation is made within 30 days of the session start date, we offer a partial refund or credit toward a future session.

I signed up to Flucamp in December. They took a blood sample from me, and a few weeks later they asked for my medical records and a little while later they told me I wasn't eligible for their trials due to my blood sample. I queried them for why they asked for my medical records if my blood sample showed I was ineligible. And made reference to their consent video where they say they only ask for your medical records if your blood results are eligible. They have taken this video down now but I have copies for people who are interested. They're gonna have to pay a lot of compo for how unethical they have acted. EDIT:So yesterday Flucamp wrote a response to my review here on Google saying quote "Thank you for your review and for bringing to our attention an inaccuracy in our communications about our volunteer selection process" however they shortly deleted this response afterwards which seems pointless as I still have the email with the response. Funny that they describe it as an inaccuracy with their communication which is different from the email that was sent to me two weeks ago where they denied being misleading. You've really contradicted yourselves and now you tried but failed to cover your tracks.

Recently finished a trial at FluCamp, 3rd Jan to the 18th Jan 2023. Food was great so shout out to the chef, staff there were very friendly and made me feel comfortable. It was an excellent opportunity to relax and catch up on work, tv shows and games. Flu symptoms were mild and not anything to write home about. I feel any poor reviews always have an axe to grind. Whether it’s not being able to get onto a trial due to not meeting the health criteria (it’s a clinical trial they have to be strict), or them being cancelled (it happens) not getting paid fast enough which was not my experience (I left on the Wednesday and the money was in my account by Friday), or other experiences outside the control of the staff. I’ve read one where the person was annoyed that their requests of the staff weren’t fulfilled fast enough, they’re medical professionals not waiters, be understanding and patient. I’d recommend it to anyone with the note that they have to be comfortable with quarantining in a room for 2 weeks, and comfortable with their blood being taken.

Did not end up going to the actual trial but had the first two medicals. Everyone that I came across was really friendly, and they literally paid you the money the next day for the medicals. The only thing which is a little bit annoying is they want you to go on the contraceptive pill, in order to take part in the trial. This was something that is a hard pass from me as most of the pills have a lot of risks. If they changed this is the future I would definitely take part and do the full experience.
