Gorgeous thatched ‘fairytale cottage’ featured in several Constable paintings. The description here is wrong - it no longer houses a display of Constable’s paintings. It is now much better, having been restored back to how it probably looked inside around 1800, when a family of 8 lived here. Very atmospheric, with replica period worker’s furniture. The day I visited there was a display of wool spinning going on. And it’s free for everyone, including non-members of NT.
