The chef owes the wait staff a huge apology. Chefs forget that it's the wait staff who have to deal with customers when the food is deplorable. The waitress was a nice person so I didn't have the heart to tell her how miserable my dining experience was. That I needed a hacksaw to cut through the Pie and that the burnt cabbage that you set on fire nearly got lodged in my throat after chewing it for 10 minutes. You left the stalk on the cabbage and I couldn't chew through it with my 28 teeth. Yeah that's right I have 28 teeth and all in good condition and it was really challenging to chew. Did you use cement instead of flour for the crust? By the time I got through to chewing the crust I could have used it to lay bricks to build me a new home. It's so disappointing when you see high reviews and expecting a great dining experience and it's just that what I described. It's a tourist area. Please try to take pride in the food that you cook. Btw, what was that black disk on my plate? Smh.

Fish and chips in here is absolutely rubbish. Burnt horrible batter and when chizzeled through the batter there was hardly a bit of fish to be found. Bread that was given was stale also. Chips were okay! Another thing that really annoyed me was the Barman. When I went to pay the bill after eating what we could, I explained to him how upset I was that the batter was burnt and hardly abit of fish to be found. He thought an adequate response was to shrug his shoulders and say aww well!! This made me even more livid. Years ago whilst on holiday in York we visited here and it was wonderful food, so we looked forward to our return. Sadly mistaken. Do not recommend at all. My family will never be back again.

I had a booking for over 15 people. The team were amazing. They looked after us, provided water, the service was great. The staff and management looked after our every need. The food came when we asked for it and it was superb. Will defiantly go back the this bar and would highly recommend a visit, even if it’s to sit in the sun and have a pint. Thanks guys. You made our day brilliant
