It's a pity that the first two days on the Test river the water conditions and even some of the weather (strong wind) weren't the best, but nobody can predict this and do nothing to change it. In any case, very beautiful places and river and a relaxing day in any case (one catch per day). Very beautiful and a pleasant surprise is the Kennet River and its park. In the morning on the main river very strong water, almost no activity a single catch. But in the afternoon I moved to one of the secondary channels and the fishing was good and plentiful with 7 catches all of important dimensions (iron blue dun 5 and also Mayfly 2), following Simon's advice on using flies. Thanks to Simon and his staff for their professionalism and kindness, both in the organization of the trip and for his precious advice on flies and guardians on the river. This was my second year and I plan to come back again next year.

These guys have a great selection of rivers but was extremely disappointed after a recent trip to the Nadder. Booked last minute in light of rain/weather inbound and had the discussion upfront re concern and where best to fish. Off the back of that they should have never sold the river which was completely blown out (the worst i have ever seen on a 'chalk' stream and completely unfishable). Phoned Simon (the owner) who was not only extremely unapologetic but simply said read the terms and conditions, its on you, and took absolutely zero responsibility and said he doesn't have the time to warn clients about conditions when booking. As such be extremely wary of booking with these guys if you want advice, they are incentivized to make the booking rather than advise where is best. Sadly a very unpleasant experience

Absolutely amazing day on the Parsonage beat, greaat weather amazing water quality with fish to match. The riverside facilities were some of the best ive experienced and the directions and parking were made simple with a great info pack and mapping i received before the day. 10/10 i will be booking again very soon.

Fishing Breaks offers an easy way to get access to some great chalk streams on a pay as you go basis, which is very handy if you can't get out often enough to make use of paying an annual fee somewhere. I've used them 5 or so times over the last few years and everything's been very well organised, with clear instructions on access etc and also great locations. Highly recommended.

We have had the pleasure of booking with Fishing Breaks at least 6 times over the last 5 or so years as a family group. One of us has gone through their excellent website, something has caught the eye and the booking is made easily. The range of water is excellent, the communication is first class and the maps and information make everything simple. They offer everything from challenging overgrown streams to more sedate and approachable glides of chalk stream. I was genuinely impressed when they called a halt to fishing on a stretch where abstraction had taken its toll. Welfare and river management at its best, they really do practice what they preach. Simon and the team are always helpful and we will continue to book with them. Thank you Fishing Breaks and look forward to sampling the website again very soon.

Very nice service! You can book absolutely nice chalks (streams) with nice fish. Everything is arreanged perfectly. So you don't have any worries. Had a nice day and would book more days when I'm back in England!

Very disappointing - One day Intro to Chalkstream Fishing. 1. I incurred a foot injury a few days before the booked event, but the Managing Director refused to allow me to re-arrange, despite there being alternative dates available. 2. Only half-day fishing and few fish... even the Instructor "blanked". I had enjoyed two previous courses with this company, but am unlikely to use them again.

Booked Broadlands House through Fishing Breaks. A truly wonderful fishing location and plenty of fish. I've booked through Fishing Breaks for a number of years and never been disappointed with their days and availability.

What a lot of rain on the day--I wondered if it was going to be worth it. I arrived at the very clear parking for Fishing Breaks and set up my split cane rod in the rain. Walking down to the river, I was very surprised to see a good number of rising fish. This changed my mood completely. However, I have fished this lovely stretch of river before and know how hard the rising fish can be to fool. I went for the small nymph and was soon rewarded by the gentle sucking take of a wild brownie. I had half a dozen by the end of the afternoon. An increasingly strong wind and some heavy rain began to take the edge of the day and so I headed home. The water is very clear and so I was able to watch my dry and emerger patterns being examined by some good size fish. They are large becuase they know the difference between the real thing and my attempts to deceive them. A good day despite the rain.
