(Translated by Google) We stayed in a group of 10 for 4 nights in the Fisherman's Cot. The location next to the River Exe is beautiful and the room was good. Clean, quiet and spacious. The restaurant offers good quality food at fair prices. But on our second evening there were only a few servings of fish an chips available. And the next two evenings there was no more fish and chips. Some other dishes from the menu were also no longer available. On the last morning there were not even any mushrooms left! We had similar experiences with the drinks. After two evenings, certain (good) bottles of white and red wine were more available. And as a hotel/pub owned by a brewery chain, it's embarrassing that the ales ran out on the second night and no new casks were available the next two days either.

The service, food offering and quality simply doesnt match the beautiful surroundings and pricing level of this once wonderful establishment. If we had been informed at the time of order that our meals would be half missing, we could have decided on an alternative or not order at all and go elsewhere. We found the whole experience lacklusture, slow and dissapointing. more of a slow 'fast food' experience rather than the country pub experience the beautiful location deserves and your high price tag demands. I cant say we will be returning anytime soon.

Meh, I hate leaving bad reviews. So I'll describe it via a sh*t sandwich. The location is absolutely stunning! And outside area was clean and well kept. Top marks for that! The food was below average. Which is such a shame 🙁 We were in a reasonable sized group and three meals that were brought out weren't even meals we had ordered (the last being a child's meal who then had to wait whilst everyone else's meals had been served. We shared out some of our meals so he didn't go without). The Ribeye steak was mostly grizzle and fat and chicken burger was (as quoted by the eater) worse than a weatherspoons burger, I can only comment on these meals, but all agreed who ate the same. To end on a high note, the staff were friendly and polite (even though they seemed short staffed) and immediately took the meals back to the kitchen to be replaced.
