This week has been a nightmare - missed collections, 4 repeated promises of daily collections all for nothing - customer services bland response: "it must be terribly frustrating" - now we have a weekend of other clubs visiting, with many people to be welcomed by the sight of a socially and environmentally hazardous build up of waste and recycling materials. It looks like our volunteers will have to spend even more hours than they usually do to clear the mess that First Mile's paid staff have allowed to build up. We started tweeting them in desperation this afternoon. Zero response (*correction* - have now had customer services reply with (another) promise the waste will be collected tonight). But they have been certified this week as a socially and environmentally aware company. They must be good then. One would hope by the third day of polite requests, we might have had some action taken. Nothing. So social media is our last resort. Sorry, not sorry. I had a problem with my delivery and spoke to Travis at customer services on Friday 28th April and I wanted to leave a note to say he was exceptional. There had been some confusion prior to my call and I was so grateful to have him sort everything out. I was going on holiday the next day so needed the problem sorted asap and he went above and beyond. He called me back after closing and made sure everything was ready, which I massively appreciated.

My experience with First Mile is not a good one ! totally disappointed with the lack of proper communication, I ordered a toner recycling bag as a new customer which we paid over £40 for... we received the bag eventually. however then we started being told we owed them over £90 for a bulky waste collection ? we told them there must be a mistake as we have never ordered or received such a service, they never replied to my emails and are still sending out reminders for this overdue balance that is nothing to do with our company ! Booked a denim recycling collection. Waited in for the collection to arrive yet no body turned upto collect, nor did they email or call saying they would not be able to collect, despite my two emails asking for confirmation and recieving nothing. Third business I have come into that is using this company and the third I will be taking over to another waste removal service. We have agreed pick up times between 8 and 10pm with them due to issues with our neighbours in Covent Garden and they cannot be relied on to pick it up. They miss at least two, often three or four collections a week causing us untold misery and conflict with our nearest and dearest.
