I recently had an inset wood burner installed by Fireplaces Direct in Basingstoke. My initial contact was via email when I sent over some photos of my existing traditional fireplace and gave them measurements, including that of the external chimney breast. I then went to view stock at their showroom and found Chris to be incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He took time to discuss what kind of look I wanted and we discussed hearth, a surround or beam etc. Tony, the surveyor, double checked requirements prior to install as it was known that the new hearth would be slightly smaller than my existing, but as first part of my home refurb this didn't bother me but I was grateful for this attention to detail. After placing my order I waited only a few weeks until his team could come and deliver. The workmen were first class, ensuring carpets were protected to and from the room. Dust was kept to a minimum and they worked their socks off. Being summer, I haven't yet used it but it looks very smart and I'm so pleased I went ahead with Fireplaces Direct. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Fireplaces direct gave a first class service from when I went in to the store to discuss fireplaces to getting my new fireplace installed. They removed the old fireplace and moved the old gas pipe to be neatly hidden behind the wall and plastered the area around the fireplace. I would definitely recommend to any friend wanting to renew / replace their fireplace.

We had a fantastic experience with Fireplaces Direct. The surveyor, Tony, was really professional and helpful, we changed our minds several times on which fireplace we wanted but Tony patiently gave us the best advice. Once purchased the installer was a real professional quickly and efficiently installing the fireplace plus doing any extra work to make the fireplace fit. On top of this he left our lounge spotless! Great service! Great price! I recommend Frieplaces Direct very highly!

I recently moved into a property and had a fireplace built in the 1960's, it was brick and horrible! I visited Fireplaces Direct with the intent of changing it to stove, and to get an idea of what needed to be done. I did start knocking the old brick out and showed Chris the picture, Chris then proceeded to reel off fact about my fireplace I didn't even know! He was familiar with how it would be behind the old skool fireplace and told me what work I needed to get it into a state where they can install a stove, his knowledge was exceptional. I initially just went in to get ideas, but my confidence in Chris grew with every second he spoke and I knew they were the company I wanted to do business with. He informed me what works needs to be done and how to get it ready, and told me rough costs. Then, he proceeded to tell me if I'm confident enough, I can do some of the work myself! He gave me to confidence to knock out the old fireplace and do most of the work myself, giving me many pointers to take away. With this in mind I went home and knocked it out myself. I popped back nearer the install date and showed him the picture of what I did and he praised my efforts. My install date was in Jan, because the initial quote involved the work I had done, and because of the work I did they brought the install date forward a month. During the whole process Chris was willing to advise when I needed it, and his advice was spot on, his willingness to help me save money by doing some of the work myself was selfless, and he was so happy to help me in this process. He's an amazingly knowledgeable person and because of his selfless and willingness to help/advise, he saves me nearly 2k! But not only is his knowledge exceptional, his banter is top drawer! Funny guy and a credit to the company, I'm going to miss chatting to him. When the installers came to install, they were also very knowledgeable, being a first time owner, they ran through the process of what they were going to do, and explained everything when I asked questions, another 2 exceptional employees. I'm eternally grateful to Chris and his team, the customer service was amazing, informative and attentive, if I could, I'd give them 6 stars, great team, I would strongly advice going there if you're looking at anything fire related!
