Worked with Simon Dove on a major 3 yr renovation where he fulfilled several roles, total fees to FH of c.£34k. His party wall work was satisfactory. However, his approach to billing his time is unreasonable in our view - prepare to be charged by the minute for every interaction. The job had been finished for nearly a year when he casually announced he had ‘forgotten’ to invoice for £3.6k of hours. He invoiced almost 2 years after the work was done & pushed for immediate payment, threatening legal action. Soon became aggressive, litigious, felt like bullying us into paying so he didn’t have to admit his mistake to his bosses. We were forced by their lawyers to pay (in instalments), that there was no money left that long after the job had closed being of no concern to them, despite it being their error. Summary: party wall work is average - same as others I’ve worked with and not half as good as Simon claims. However, only work with him/FH if you’re ok with potentially large financial surprise, no time limit as to when they invoice or for how much. I’d go elsewhere given my time again.

Simon Dove, as lead surveyor, taught us that anyone can be a surveyor. He charged per hour, and ended up overcharging twice the recommended price. Then comes the headache. It like someone stealing from you while you're watching

Not great at all. Steve Finley was supposed to oversee the contractors performing major works on our building. Despite being paid to do this, he failed. No snagging was performed, no trace of works carried out but the works were signed off as complete. Had the audacity to attend the Tribunal to argue that works were carried out, instead of apologising for his shortcomings. Cost us a lot of money and headache.
