  On Monday 1st May, we knew it was time to make the very tough phonecall & ask our vet to come & put Pacha to sleep. The vet told us they didn't do home visits, and we'd need to put her through the trauma of a final vet visit which we knew we didn't want. Final Rest were recommended to us as an alternative, and from the minute we spoke on the phone, we felt put at ease by Ben & arranged for them to come to us. We called at 11am, on a Bank Holiday, and after a brief consultation over the phone he arrived just 30 minutes later. Ben was very calm, professional, and also very understanding. It was clear he cared about Pacha, and our feelings. When he arrived, Pacha was unaware he was a vet & remained calm which helped the situation. Throughout his visit, Ben was reassuring & gave us plenty of time, explaining each step & making sure we understood what was happening. Despite the obvious emotions, we didn't feel rushed & Ben even left the house briefly to let us say our goodbyes in private. When he returned he came in with a nice, clean bed & blanket which we placed Pacha in, and he then arranged her cremation through The Meadows, who were also amazing to deal with too. It was touching to receive a hand-written card with their condolences in the post too, a truly personal & understanding service for one of the toughest decisions you ever have to make. They couldn't be any more personal, and less clinical, than a usual vet experience. We can't thank you enough for giving Pacha the calm & dignified ending that she deserved, because as we know pets are family. You'll never know how much that means to us. Thank you, Vicky & Chad.

  After a short battle with cancer, our lovely Jeeves went to sleep with the help of Ben, who was so kind and considerate and gentle, he talked us through what would happen and it was calm and peaceful for Jeeves with all his family with him. Thank you so much for helping us to do this one last thing for him, I can't recommend Final Rest highly enough and they are dealing with the cremation details as well. It has made it all smooth so we can grieve without other concerns.

  Heartbreaking and beautiful in equal measures. Our beautiful boy passed in our arms, completely relaxed. Thank you Ben for making this awful situation dignified for all concerned.

  From the minute we had to make the first phone call to the collecting of our dog Alfie’s ashes I cannot praise Final Rest enough. They have been so kind and understanding at such a difficult time. Rachel was very calming when she came to our home to put Alfie to rest and reassured us through the whole process that this really was the kindest thing. Words you need to hear when making this heartbreaking decision. Christine also was brilliant throughout and nothing was too much trouble. They really did make everything so much more bearable and I would definitely recommend them when sadly you have a decision to make. Thank you again to all the team.

  Top rated service, phoning final rest was hard but Ben put me straight at ease with Oscars final day, when he came to the house to put our lovely Oscar to sleep,I couldn’t have asked for anything better, Ben was kind, thoughtful and took the time to go through the whole process, which made it a beautiful passing for Oscar and ourselves, so a very big heartfelt thank you to Ben, also Christine who kept in touch via email and to let us know when Ben was on his way, final rest is just simply the best.

  I would like to thank Ben for his quiet gentleness and compassion shown when helping us to say goodbye to Felix. He passed away very peacefully.   Almost 2 years ago we had to say goodnight to our boy Bolt. In the vets it felt rushed and clinical, lots of noise, other animals coming in and out of the waiting room and people. We decided this was not the way we wanted any of our remaining 6 dogs when the dreadful time came. We unfortunately at the end of march had to make the same decision for Bolts brother Nanuq and it was horrendous for me. We spoke with Ben who met us at The Meadows Pet Crematorium after we had taken Nanuq for his last walk in the beautiful grounds with our other husky Zala. We were then given a room inside to spend some time with Nanuq. The room was tranquil, with lots of blankets, scatter cushions, low lighting and candles, no hustle and bustle outside, it was pure peace. Ben talked us through the process and after Nanuq was sedated, I got the chance to lay with my boy, telling him he had been so good all these years and was loved very very much. Nanuq was then placed in my arms by my sons and gently slipped away. Although my heart is broken, I know his passing was the best that we could give him. I will always owe Ben form Eternal Rest & James from The Meadows so much gratitude. It means more than I can say we got to give Nanuq the best send off we could 💙

  Ben visited us yesterday morning to put Millie into her final sleep. From our first call to Lauren up to Ben yesterday we could not have asked for a better service. They are incredibly caring and thoughtful people, this made things so much nicer for us with our gorgeous caring girl. Millie was always the sweetest most loving of dogs so for her to leave us in such capable hands meant the world to us. I cannot thank Final Rest enough.
