I spoke to final duties regarding my uncle. I thought we needed probate. They were honest and helpful. It turned out I could sort things out myself and they gave me all the information I needed with no charge. I had been quoted by other solicitors £20-£30 thousand pounds. I cannot say how excellent they were. They said if I have anymore queries they would be happy to help.

I used Final Duties after an expensive experience where my Aunt had nominated her solicitors to Execute her will. It cost £20,000 and took 3 years+. After this I used Final Duties for my mothers will (a similar size and complexity) it cost £4743 which was good and includes all extra cost and VAT. It took 2 years, which after the experience is a reasonable time frame.

Utterly dreadful experience with this nasty company. They are not regulated and are no more than an extremely expensive and unnecessary agent for fixed price solicitors that could be found with out the need to pay for this sloppy third party. They made a number of mistakes with providing information to the solicitors that complicated things just at the time when you really could do without more stress. When I brought this to their attention they were rude unhelpful and instructed the solicitors to stop the probate process. They were utterly insensitive greedy and made a very difficult emotive time worse that it needed to be. All they do is a kind of introduction to a solicitor and charge an obscene fee. Best avoided!
